This is way early to be thinking about this, but I was considering getting a CV as a winter beater. I would like to get one that has a posi so I don't need to install one. Are there any out there?

no fords have posi's
fords have trac locs
with that over look at the door of your marauder check your axle code and find a cvpi with the same code

Most, if not all, CV Sport and CVPI have posi. Probably any others with the performance package too. If it has factory dual exhaust it should have the performance package.

CVPIs will have the following codes for locking rear ends:
DK 3.55
X5 3.27
C6 3.55 2004-up

FordNut - Most, if not all, CV Sport and CVPI have posi.
Traction-Lok was not available ( as-shipped nor as an option ) for any LX Sport ( 2001-8 ). They all came with 3.27 open.
A lot of P71s have Traction-Lok, however, as RoyLPita noted, you will have to check the door jam sticker | axle tag.

Traction-Lok was not part of nor an option with the HPP optional package.

Check the axle tags for the "L" between the gear ratio. The door stickers can be incorrect. This was the case on my '98 P71.
ie: "3 L 55" will be read on the tag of one w/a locking 3.55 diff.

You can try a website like this for a P71:

I bought one there before, and they have a good selection. Description should tell you the equipment level, and don't forget to bargain.

I had a 1994 Crown Vic with the trailer towing package which included dual exhaust and a 3.27 axle ratio with traction-lok.

this might help, the sticker decoder part that is. Like it was said, they could be off if the vehicle has been modified... I'm guessing you're looking for a rear to put in your car?
