My little Liver Dalmatian Molly went to the rainbow bridge this morning. Her health had slowly betrayed her, not being able to get up without help and barely able to walk, occasionally falling down. She laid sleeping almost always except for when I fed her or carried her out for a potty break to her very own ice fishing tent I had set up in the yard, complete with heat and lights with the floor open to the grass all winter so she could take her time and not be cold. She slept on the bed with us the last day and a nap this morning. I took her to the vet this morning and had to let her go. I held her in my arms as she passed and I sang to her "you are my sunshine". There was some debate as to her age when she adopted us in 2003, 12 or so, but she had a great life and lived out her senior days with her friends Patch and Speedee (K.C.). Always cared for, never forgotten. R.I.P my little girl. E. :bigcry:

Oh man, Erin, my heart goes out to you.
I had the same thing with my beloved Stout six years ago next month. It was absolutely the hardest thing I've ever done, and I bawled my head off for days.
Remember the good times, they're memories that will grow fonder as time goes on.
I know Stout was there to meet her up on Rainbow Ridge, my friend.
Heart is with you on this Erin! One of our Cockers may not last much longer and he is only seven. He hurt his back when he was two and it is creating a lot of issues. The worst part is we have his brother and they never have been apart!

Oh, Earin! I'm saddened to read this. Never an easy decision but we don't want our Kids to suffer. Hugs waiting for you tomorrow. May Molly and all our Rainbow Bridge Kids rest in peace.

I am very sorry for your loss!
When we lost Molly and Franky it was devastating to us so I / We totally understand!
I hope they meet each other and play together. As hard as it is to lose them it is worse to know they are suffering so you did the right thing in the long run.
Best wishes to you and yours in the hopes that you can recover from this loss sooner than later!

Sorry to hear that. It's heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet.
My black lab had a heart attack and died on the way to the vet with all of us with him. He took his last breath as we pulled into the parking lot. Man, that was hard!

Thank-you everyone. My dogs are my kids, so it's especially tough on me but the support has helped :depress:
A pic of Molly with her typical Dalmatian "smile" on.

They are with us for such a short time. I relish every minute with my 3 dogs. I wish we could afford more than 3 as the kill shelter is over flowing.

I am sorry to hear that. It is never an easy decision to let them go but, at least it is the last gift of love you can give them so they will no longer suffer. When the time is right, another pet will wiggle their way in you life to help you along. Not to replace, just fill another spot.

That really sucks bro. :(
It sounds like you gave that pup an awesome life, 1 that's a million times better than on the streets. 12 years is a good run....you did right by her.

She was a rescue dog, they speculated her age was 12 in 2003, if that were tru, I got her to 20. My last female Dal got to 19.
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I will be adopting when I can find another rescue Dal. Patch has already shut down and started lying around.
