What needs to be done for Stainless Works headers to fit on a stock marauder? Do I need to buy their lead pipes and catalytic converters or will something else work?

If you have a good exhaust shop they can preform all the work & supply the parts. I may be wrong, but you won't find a bolt in Marauder exhaust kit.

Have you done any other mods to the car? If you're looking for enhanced performance, there are a couple other things you may wish to consider first that will give you more bang for the buck.

A full exhaust set up will prolly cost you $1,500+.

Are you going for the performance aspect of them or just the exhaust sound increase?

I would like to get the exhaust sound increase right now. Eventually I would like to have performance and sound. My idea is to see how the SW headers work with the h-pipe and then see if I want to purchase the x-pipe.

Yes get the Maucat System - BOLTS RIGHT ON. No welding.

You are wrong - it's bolt on.

$1300.00 when you sell the old cats..

Sound will go up with the kit as will HP, Torque and Mileage. Took me 14 hours to install it. Don't forget to tighten the EGR nut!

Good luck. Highly recommend the SW kit.

I know we've been through this a gazillion times but what is the avg hp/tq with SW headers. Both N/A and S/C.

I mean avg increase.

If you want sound increase, remove the 2nd set of cats, change the mufflers and get res-delete tips.

If you do LT headers you will want a dyno tune for AFR correction, that will be $350-400. It's something to do more towards the end of the bolt-ons.

just get the headers and have a good exhaust shop fab the rest.

Prolly the best route to go, but kinda pricy just for more noise.

This is only my opinion so please do not flame me. :flamer:

I would'nt buy a Maucat system, the reason why?
Why bother with a LT install if your gonna run it into the stock 1-7/8" H pipe? That makes no sense. If your gonna do LT'a then do it right and get rid of the mid pipe section completely. This is gonna cost you good to do it right so get ready to dig into that a$$ pocket.

Now if you want to save some cash, find a used set of Cobra header's on the cheap and mod them to fit the MM

There are plenty N/A mods that will net you the same or more HP than LT's.

Numbers are around:

SC 50hp 35tq
NA 21hp 12tq (tuned)

just get the headers and have a good exhaust shop fab the rest.

cost a lot more and isn't stainless usually - nor are the welds - isn't mandrel either. SW kit is made for a Marauder

If you neuter cats you just tossed out $100. Tune is best although not required.

op wants sound and HP/TQ - if you do exhaust first any mods later will compliment.. My mileage is a lot better with the LT's too at least 1-2 MPG over what I was getting before, and I don't drive pokey.. Because this bolts up to STOCK pipes you can do headers first - then do your midpipes or mufflers after if you want to. Bonus that you don't have to do the whole exhaust at once.

If you just want noise buy a ricer with holes in the muffler. If your going to do exhaust work on the Marauder do it right. SW long tube headers or cobra shortys high flow cats by SW or Magnaflow. Mid pipe to oem mufflers 2".5". Depending on sound level & tone disired 12"-14" mid muffler or x pipe to oem mufflers. Dyno to correct a/f .

I agree with burt except OEM mufflers go down to 1 7/8"

He said he is just looking for sound right now. I gave the cheapest, legal and loudest option. lol

neutered cats aren't legal.

Change your mufflers, buy a tuner, CAI, and 4.10 gears. Install all and you'll be a happy camper. Louder only attracts traffic tickets.

I meant sound wise legal. I've gone through state emissions with rear cats removed and the emissions tech didn't say anything about it.
