Got the idea from another forum I am on. Only post pictures you have taken from your cell phone. It can be of whatever you want just as long as it's safe for work viewing.

I enjoyed a day off today and the boys asked me to take them to see a space ship. So the closest one I could think of is about 90 KM (~55 miles) away in Vulcan, Alberta.

Vulcan saw a big rise in fame when the original Star Trek series came out and since then have built their tourism element around Star Trek. I figured most people here would have never seen the place and might enjoy some cell phone pics :D

The visitor center has a mini-museum of Star Trek merchandising from over the years, including original action figures in their original packages, models of the ships, original VHS tapes of every episode, art inspired by the show, etc.... This was my favorite!

I enjoyed a day off today and the boys asked me to take them to see a space ship. So the closest one I could think of is about 90 KM (~55 miles) away in Vulcan, Alberta.

Vulcan saw a big rise in fame when the original Star Trek series came out and since then have built their tourism element around Star Trek. I figured most people here would have never seen the place and might enjoy some cell phone pics :D

LOL! I collect Hess trucks! I have them all the way back to the 80's. It is a family tradition that I am trying to keep in motion after my grandfather's passing. He used to always get me a Hess truck for Christmas. Apparently they stole the loader that was supposed to go in the back of the truck. I didn't know thugs were capable of operating heavy machinery!

The ones I had as a kid, some are in rough shape because I played with them. I only collected the ones that were that size, none of the smaller ones. I have from the mid 80's up to the present. Lolol! I Was just going to post the same thing. I support all his habits. When I moved in he had to move all the Hess trucks from the wardrobe cabinet into the metal trunk then his parents offered to store that in their attic so we can have more room but he "likes to have them in [his] possession". Lol.

I don't mind the Transformers in the living room but I'm still working on getting the poster of "Clint-Eastwood-pointing-a-gun-at-me-while-I-watch-TV" off the wall. Lolol

Paul, you are definate collector. My friend Dave, does collect one of each for himself, but the rest is a business. Along with his successful garage, towing,used car lot and resturant he owns. He went big when he started doing police towing back in the early 80s. He was quick, professional and never bit the hand that fed him. It's not allowed here due to the nuclear work. They will take your badge and your clearance and push you out the front gate. Armed Marines walk around here making folks hand over thier phones to check them. You could tell them to get lost, but they will just punch you in the face with a rifle butt and take your phone. For the last few weeks I been working at the Aqueduct raceway building a new parking garage for the casino they are putting in. Basically my day is shuttling over-sized pieces of pre-cast like this to the 2 cranes to the job. Today one of the 3 other drivers Im working with decided to take a detour and didn't see the hole that was dug out for the drainage box.

Luckily they were able to get him out of the hole with a front end loader and some strong cables.
I thought I was having a bad day when my 5th wheel wasnt locked and the trailer landed on my frame. This was far worse a day and we still have 4 hours to go and 8 trailers still on the list! :eek:

For the last few weeks I been working at the Aqueduct raceway building a new parking garage for the casino they are putting in. Basically my day is shuttling over-sized pieces of pre-cast like this to the 2 cranes to the job. Today one of the 3 other drivers Im working with decided to take a detour and didn't see the hole that was dug out for the drainage box.

Luckily they were able to get him out of the hole with a front end loader and some strong cables.
I thought I was having a bad day when my 5th wheel wasnt locked and the trailer landed on my frame. This was far worse a day and we still have 4 hours to go and 8 trailers still on the list! :eek:

I recently upgraded to 12PSI boost and on my first run I blew the breather hose off of the intake! Here's a pic of me zip-tying the hose on as a quick fix.

It's driving me nuts... I'm currently in the process of changing out pitman arm, tie rods, etc... And the pitman arm is fighting me the whole way. I broke 2 pullers so far, and doesn't look like it's gonna get any easier on me.

Did that first since it was the cheapest option, still there. Took it in to check the alignment and they said the angles were out of whack because of too much lift and that they would just be taking my money if they did it. They recommended a drop pitman arm and a new tierod end (i'm doing both tie rod ends on the passenger side because they're cheap, and less frustration than doing just one)

They say the alignment, tie rods, and worn control arm bushings are the top causes for this; control arm bushings are brand new since the lift is new, tie rods are good except the ones i'm replacing, and hopefully the alignment will be too once I'm done with the pitman arm... if it ever wants to come off. I'm busting out the cutoff wheel when I get home :D
