I can't speak for Chris but there are risks and disadvantages to every modification. Not every mod is listed or shared on this site, that's reality. We all contribute what we can, but some people are trying to support this site and others are trying to run a business.

I fully understand your comment about Trilogy Twin Screw vs Whipple 2.3. Last year I spent a couple months researching the differences, not just the housings. It was a interesting conversation that I shared with Brian, Zack, Marty, Chris, and others. Finally a decision was made, but after additional R&D and lessoned learned we are going to make some modifications to the original design.

In the last year I have been happy with the OEM design. For the most part the car has been trouble free. When you start monkeying with the car it could be a mixed bag of pleasure. You are just starting down the path of performance with your Marauder. Projects like yours are a real inspiration to the community. Boost is good :)

Helping someone with a OEM repair or a minor modification is one thing. On the other hand when someone's power train fails due to a un-tested mod, who is responsible for the failure. It's not always cut and dry. That's the filp side of the coin.

Yup doing it all for myself. That must be why I didn't even do it to my fathers car yet. And you are the ones tring to sell the things. Getting in a pissin match with DR over whats better. When I did the mod to a members car it was because I didn't like the method that was out there (grinding the intake). And was looking for a cheaper alternative. I'm sure a few eye's saw my work. I didn't tell anyone cause it was an unproven method. I didn't think it would fail, cause god knows theres plenty of freeze plugs already on the car.

Yup some people love helping others out. I must not be one of them. I have enough on my plate than to just sit around on the computer and log everything I do. If someone asks a question and I know the answer, and view it before it gets answered I will reply. Everyone else can blog away.

I got no beef with anyone on this board. And could care less if Zack saw what I did and decided to copy it and sell it for that matter. Just letting you all know its been on a couple cars for 2 or more years with no problems that I know of. But I in no way tried to hide it from anyone. Some people also like exclusivity tho. Ain't that why we do different things?

My first thought process on the issue was to cut up a COT, but my welder and skills wasn't the best so I got this boogered up mess. It was still a good idea and would work but the brass plug and nipples is alot cheaper and easier. Here is a pic of my nipples fittings on a motor.

Man I hate typing.

I can say for sure Zack has been working on this mod for month's now. He and I have discussed it in detail since Evenflow stopped production of their kit. He had no information about Chris doing this mod in the past. Zack started this mod with just a regular freezeplug that was brazed, it did'nt work very well, so instead of quitting he went to the next material, brass and instead of brazing he tried plumber's solder. This time it worked flawless, then he decided to solder top and bottom of the barb connector to ensure it wont leak. He even designed the tool to drive the freezeplug into the head without damaging the barb fitting's.

These fitting's were not created to say "look at me" they were made out of a necessity to have a cooling mod that was functional, affordable, and NOT purchased from the OTHER VENDOR here.

I just read thru this entire thread...are any of the critical reviewers ready to set up a run against Todd's S/B? Todd has worked hard on the entire package to be sure the whole result is greater than the sum of the parts. While not everyone likes each part, let's see what the end result is.
The St Louis drag strip is closed, so we may have to take the result up to Dom-land to show ya-all some southern hospitality.
Personally, I have had to spend money just to stay in the same ballpark with Todd' car. Maybe in July we can have some track time to publish results. The fun is in the doing, not so much the talking, IMHO.

Call'em out they wont come. I know for a fact one of them can barely turn a wrench, his verbal assault about the parts used for this project is laughable at best.

Hey John whats happening? You got 1st dibs on driving it lol you 100% correct picking parts and chosing all the goodies has been the funnest part. Got good news on the track front looks like Montgomery city is were the new MAR is gonna be & if thats the case we can make my place the meeting spot 10-15 min away. Thanks for the words..
