You shouldn't need a tune if the only thing you are changing is the airbox. You can modify the Marauder airbox like this:

I like that "ORM-D" box you're using in the pic!

Yep... just throw the airfilter in the box and connect it.... :D

I think he might be talking about the separate IAT sensor wiring for the non-MM airbox.

Not sure if you need a tune after this.

This are the parts which will replace the stock airbox/filter/intake tube.
1-Mercury Marauder airbox with K&N filter inside.
2-Police Interceptor " Zip tube "

As MASSACRE write in his post my Panther has the IAT sensor separate from the Maf sensor.

This is the current OEM airbox in the BP74i which will be replaced by the other in the post # 7 but what will be a P.I.T.A. to drill a hole in the Marauder airbox to adapt the IAT sensor. :mad2: any pics, videos and advice would help a lot.

Well Mangs if I decide to use the current maf sensor and to drill a hole to the IAT to the MMarauder airbox in combination with the "zip tube" I have to do a tune anyway ? please help me because i'm desperate to put those parts to start the aggressive mods.

This Marauder airbox has a K&N airfilter but do not include the MAF sensor so in the case I use the Maf that have the CVLX i have to drill a hole to adapt the separate IAT.

I contemplated this same thing.. Bottom line is it's a piece of cake to drill the hole and mount the IAT

BUT the pickle is that the mount flange for the 80mm MAF has a totally different bolt pattern vs the stock 70 MM unit.

Even the lid tabs are different, but you CAN trim the tabs on a 70 mm lid and fit this to the Marauder airbox.

I needed to return my 01 to a stock tune to pass inspection and did not want to swap the whole box out, and ended up using the stock lid and MAF. Worked good but def felt the drop in HP vs the 80 mm lid and tune.

Hey like that mod fastblackmerc does it make it louder of air rushing in when you nail it ? I removed the rubber snorkel in front of air box only at made it louder.
