door lock

Hey yall, the newest problem is the drivers door lock wont unlock either from key fob or door switch.any thoughts..??

door lock latch mechanism. If not under warranty, about a c-note to fix IIRC. Mine did that at Louisville Thursday night,,,Friday morning worked like a champ,,, go figure???

1.) Are you locked IN or locked OUT of the car right now?
2.) Use the actual key to get in.
3.) Can't help you get out....

I've seen them go bad. My MM is on its 3rd one. I've also seen the rivit that mount it in break, too.

When you try the power lock/unlock do you hear anything inside the door?

I'm not locked in or out.click key fob,open rear door and manually pull up stem...no sound when clicking.thanks for your help..no warranty :help:

It could be:


Door lock actuator is jammed
Door lock assembly is jammed or broken


The only way to know is take the door panel off.

My door lock actuator broke loose from the rear door frame. It is fastened with one rivit that failed. So, if you hear the acuator check to see if the button-sized rivit on the rear door frame is missing. I bought the actuator and only needed a bolt. If you need a front door actuator, let me know; I have a Dorman actuator for sale that fits either front door.

Thanks to those who tried to help...I kept clicking and manually turned gear in the door and next time I tried door handle,something clicked and now it works...:bows:

I'd get some type of lube on the parts ASAP.
