I have been a subscriber on this site for several years, and made many purchases from them as they have great deals, fast processing and shipping.

Just about anything computer related can be found here, and then some.

If you are into computers/electronics, etc., I recommend signing up and taking advantage of their deals.

I've repaired way too many tigerdirect products. A lot of their warranties are useless too.

Hey Mike! Btw, I'm now repairing smartphones, iPods, etc. Digitizers and LCDs are pretty cheap. There's a lot of people cracking them and their not under warranty for physical damage.

You're welcome Jim!

BTW,.. I had purchased a PCIe video card from Tigerdirect last year and it didn't 'play nice' with my system and sent it back after receiving an RMA. It damn near took an act of congress to have my account credited for the amount spanning about 60 days out.

Just one experience I had with them and thus far no returns to Newegg.

;)

Very cool on the LCD's!

I am not a fan of smartphones and anything that begins with " i ".

Here's one for ya',...

A user brings his laptop in to one of my counterparts that experienced an 'accident'.

The laptop was totally useless and destroyed. No data recovery and not a part salvageable.

When asked what happened, the user explained that he was working on his laptop while sitting at home, and it slid off his lap, landing on his feet that were soaking in warm water and epson salt.

Can you say 'corrosion'?

:shake:

Nice! We've had a couple that were in a fire, the fire didn't kill em, it was the fire hoses! :D We've seen them run over by cars, thrown, baseballs hitting screens (don't throw baseballs in the house!), tripping over power cords keeps my soldering iron hot, wine/beer splillage, used as tv dinner trays... My favorite was the father that threw his daughters laptop out the upstairs window because she was on Facebook and wouldn't come down to dinner... Anger issues???

LOL!

Caught a user of mine carrying his D series Dell laptop around by the lid. I was in the process of setting him up on a new Dell E series, and I told him if I catch him carrying this new laptop like that, he would be downgraded to an IBM A29 Thinkpad running W98!

He hasn't done it since.

Speaking of IBM/Lenovo,...

Any experience/feedback you care to share with us?

Actually, I like the Lenovo series. They're just as well made as the Thinkpad series. They're a beotch to work inside as a tech, but, we see less Lenovos than ANY other brand of laptop for repairs (besides Toughbooks). Usually it's for a cracked screen or to replace the CPU fan because it's clogged with gerbils.

I need it like a hole in the head, but am considering it mainly for the Win7 Pro flavor and the DDR3 + the processor is pretty good. The additional ports - eSATA, HDMI, 3 USB is also an added bonus.

They are heavy laptops, but are built quite well.

Hmmm...

I build computers for friends/family and have often purchased parts from newegg.com with great success. I always recommend them for parts, or total systems if they don't want one of mine. :o

Normally fast shipping...and if you do get a bum part (rare), they are quick to replace.

Mike's right. Highly recommended.

Pro or Ultimate is OK by me...

I am not impressed with XP mode in Win7. Takes forever to launch apps. which is just the opposite of what Micro$oft advertised.

If I get this laptop, more RAM will be the first mod. (after imaging it before booting to Winders) :D

Cool. Thinkpads are good quality. Lenovo too so far.

Re: NewEgg. I spent about 80K there last year.
Highly recommend, just make sure you know what you are buying...

Asus, AMD, Kingston, Seasonic, Antec are a few good brands!

We used to sell a lot of Asus here. Due to their shady rma dept. we've changed that. Had issues with some mainboards out of the box, rma'd them, received the "new" boards, same exact probs, secretly marked the boards with permanent marker in a certain pattern on the edge of the boards, rma'd again, boards we marked came back, called them on it with higher ups at Asus, sent "new" boards, these worked A-ok!

I do have to say, Asus higher quality boards ($$$) never have probs, and they do have a lot of employees, we may have just had a lazy jackwagon on our account that didn't do rmas properly...

Supermicro MBs ftw! $$$

Nice system. Case is nice and roomy - I see water cooling, what are the guts of it? I recently did a dual G34 opteron box with (2) 12 Core CPUS's, In an EATX Titan case.

These are my favorite cases for most desktop builds. PSU goes on the bottom of case so CPU on motherboard sits right by (2) quiet 120mm fans.

I have used both vendors. Tiger Direct is more expesive than Newegg. I have also used
Geeks.com, They are sometimes less expensive than both these orthers.
I found when I go to Amazon.com and if these vendors are also selling the same items
they will list them as an alternative source. These vendors seem to get you in shipping.
I only offer this as another way to check prices. One last place to look is dealmac.com
Try them as well.
