Old fashion roads maps may be hard to re-fold, but they never snitched to the police on you.

Oh, That's nice.

Just bought a TomTom and interestingly enough, my actual speed/posted speed limit stays red 90% of the time.

Maybe I should exchange it for another one?

:D

It has been a great accident investigation tool because the goofs try to see how fast they can go according to the GPS because their speedometer pegs at "whatever". All we have to do is find the parts, contact the company and get the results. Never has tripple digit break-up upon re-entry been so easy to verify. :2thumbs:

P.S., if the unit is turned off, but still plugged in, it is still satellite tracking you and recording your speed.

Many of these GPS have been stolen and returned to the owner by simply pressing the home button.

Like I've said before, if you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.

Beware that your car's, well some, data log what the vehicle is doing. One of my people had a wreck due to a medical problem and I was amazed at what the ECU had stored in it. I wasn't present when the data was retrieved or I would have asked a lot of questions. That was on a 04 Cheby PP Whimppey.

My GPS says Max speed is 459 MPH or something like that. Who says Blues are slow? My nephew took it to California and must have left it turned on when on the plane.

If you turn the ign key on/off several times, it will wipe this info out.
