If you haven't seen the new Chevy commercial with new vette and ssr driving onto the transporter, it's awesome.
Here are shots of the new Vette from the media agency's web site.

The interior. I've read some grousing about the interior, but I like it. It's a clean design.
Sheriff - you gonna get one of these?

Donny, this is the first Corvette design that has caught my eye in over 20 years. I just may trade in ole blue (below) for one of these new C6s.
I love the looks of the car and the specs sound awesome.

Anybody who doesn't like the new C6 is either....
1) stupid
2) blind
3) jealous because they can't afford one
or
4) they simply don't like it. :)
Donny, probably not. I only have 3651 miles on my Z06 right now. :)

1962 was the last year to have non-concealed headlights. Apparently, the idea of dropping concealed headlights resulted in a lengthy discusssion.

I really like the look of the new Vette. Although I would have to say that looking at it straight on in the front it does look like a Mazda Miata. 400 base hp is always nice. Can't wait to see the 500+hp later.

I first saw the commercial today. Until I really saw the back, I thought it was a Modena or Maserati...oops...

but I guess according to Sherriff, I'm either blind, stupid, or ofcourse "just don't like it"..........I think it looks a liitle better than the Vettes of late, but IMO that isn't saying much. Now it doesn't even compare to the 2005 Ford GT in the looks department, but I doubt that any one of us will have the resources to get our hands on one of those. but this is just my 2 cents. I still think it's ugly.:flamer:
...and BTW, I much rather have Animal's Vette;) cuz IMO it looks a whole lot better. I think the new vette still looks like a woman's car. An old woman at that. Sorry ladies(no offence)

The car looks great but the electrical novelties don't make any sense to me, maybe I'm old fashioned. There is no mechanical key to unlock/lock the doors or start the car.

There was a "PKE" or passive keyless entry option available a number of years ago on the corvette, where the car could detect your key at a certain distanct and automatically unlock the doors.
Mercedes now offers an option that allows you to start the car without a key. It also detects the key within a certain distance, unlocks the door (and if "inside" the car will not allow the doors to lock, or will allow the car to be started with the button).
Infinity also has a system on their SUV that allows you to unlock the vehicle by touching a button outside the car as long as it detects the car key in your pocket or whatever.
Seems like an option that the competition have exploited. I don't really mind it -- I have never used the key to open my MM door or trunk, and if my MM could detect my key in my pocket and start by a touch of a button on the console or whereever, I probably would get used to that quickly.
Animal, I will take your Vette any day over ANY 1968 or newer model. Although a Vette is still a Vette, and will always be "America's Sports Car," once the new generation came in for the '68 model year, they just lost something, as far as I am concerned. Some day, maybe when I win the lottery, I'm gonna have a pre-'68 Vette.

I don't use the key to get in my MM either, but if the battery fails at least I still have the mechanical locks to use-the Vette doesn't have any on the doors. Good luck getting in a door quickly if the battery is dead or if the electrics take the day off. I also give the door handle a tug every time I walk away from my car to ensure the door is latched and locked. If I did this with the Vette, the door would open every time because it wouldn't lock until I walked away.

I saw the commercial yesterday, yup... that was pretty cool. It took me a while to figure out what car company it was for!
I have never used the key to open my doors or trunk.
I love all the electrical do-dads! (after all, I'm part of the Nintendo Generation!) I'm trying to figure out what else I can put in my MM besides my GPS and Passport 8500.

Man...I missed it. One comment though...I like it a LOT! And those hi-res pics are nice, 'specially the one of it speeding down the road...I like how you can read the "Corvette" on the calipers...I guess my Baers do the same thing at speed? Cool!

I'm a little disappointed by the headlights, but I still think it is the best looking Corvette since the Stingray.
If anyone else is buying, I'll take two :D
Man...if you haven't watched this yet...you should!

If the weather is nice for the next breakfast club meeting, I'll drive it rather than the MM.

Joe, assuming I sell it, I will sell it for its fair market value. It is a real 435 car with close ratio 4-speed and 4:11 posi rear end. It was frame off restored in 1992/1993. I completed the detail work in 1999-2000.
I have the tank sticker and have spoken to every owner except the first one (interesting story).
I won't post the price on this board but you may e-mail me if you're curious..or, just check what BB original 435s are selling for on the market these days. Check www.traderonline.com

Or...this would be a nice trade, Bob.

Straight from MSN.com;
Under the long hood is a 6.4-liter aluminum V10 engine that pumps out an impressive 605 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque. The engine is positioned behind the front wheels, making the short front overhangs possible. This also makes a very balanced vehicle, with 52 percent of the weight in the rear.

The car looks pretty cool, but I've always had one question about that open grill Cobra design. Without some kind of grill, what keeps birds, trash, and other stuff from getting up into the engine compartment?

Is Ford going to produce that Shelby? Holy moley, that's a sweet car. No offense to the GT, but I'd rather have the Shelby even if the GT could smoke it.
