I found a poem about the original Marauder the B-26
Written by R. Burlingame
S/Sgt, Air Corps
22nd Bombardment Group (M)
This poem was discovered in the archives of the Historical Research Center, Maxwell AFB, AlabamaI
I changed it to go with the today's Marauder but I need someones help to polish it up.
This Lady’s A Marauder
The MM is a lady of parts,
A whole lot of trouble whenever she starts.
She's shy, she's skittish, she's coy, she's bold,
And many a driver she's soon to turn old.
A runaway supercharger on the take-off, 'tis true,
Scares the hell out of me, as it will out of you,
She’ll spin her tires until smoke is in the air,
A cute little trick that whitens the hair.
For this baby races at a helluva speed
With more grace and comfort than you’ll need.
On the starting line she crouches and waddles
Like an old fat goose out of place in the flock.
When the light turns green she's clean, so round and smooth,
With a little persuasion she'll fly down the groove.
When the risers threaten and the Sables too, she shoo's them away like an intent old girl too busy to play.
She doesn't hang around; just leaves them behind.
Of course, if they want to get rough and nasty,
She wallops them hard just for being so sassy.
"Yep." said grand pop, stroking his beard,
"I drive a Marauder
I woo her and won her over without much trouble,
And wherever we went, we went on the double."
And here's to the lady with the numerous quirks,
Who was always so willing to humble the squirts.
Those squirts who thought it so easy to drive.
The MM can fly ... only Logan knows why.
Sorry but I lost the orginal poem.

Yep, I caught it. Nice documentary. Watched the one on the Dam Busters too.
The History channel has more interest to me than anything the big 3 have on the air these days....
