I notice this loud clank / clunk sound while pulling into a parking spot at my son's track meet last night. Well after the meet I heard it again, but this time while putting it into gear from park to drive. So on the way home I take it nice and easy, so at stop lights I would put the car in park and then back to drive and half the time I would get this clank / clunk sound and then start to notice what felt like the car was catching ( being held in place when ever I started to take off). I'm going to take her in sometime this week but want to know what I may be dealing with?

My first reaction is u-joint. That is just a WAG, not having heard it.

Sounds like a u-joint bad or going bad.
Easy to check.
Get under the car and see if there is any play in either end pf the driveshaft.
If there is replace both u-joints.

Sounds like U-joint. You would have a series of other noises if the ring and pinion were that loud.

Drop her off at the dealership, should know something shortly.

Does anyone know of a place in SW Michigan besides Paul's Performance (there booked til June) I can go to have new ring and pinion kit install for sure and may even need new ford racing 4:10 gear and Auburn Gear Pro Series Differential. Just try to get all my ducks in a row preparing for the worst.
