Hard to believe its less then a month away! :banana2:
Here's whats in store for you guys.
-MM.net in-voting returns with 6 classes.
-Best in Show NA, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
-Best in Show SC, 1st 2nd, and 3rd.
-Best in Show Non-Marauder (For those MM.net members bringing something other then a Marauder )
-Best Engine NA
-Best Engine SC
-Best Display (For those members who can teach a person all about the Marauder just by what they have around their car!)
-50/50 Raffle (proceeds to benefit Marauderville 9 in Hershey this year.)
-Sparta Performance Watts link Raffle (along with the raffle, Tommy will also have some Marauder parts with him to purchase)
-MM.net Dash Plaques
-2011 Carlisle T-shirts.
-MM.net Tent BBQ.
I'm not asking for money for this, I'm just asking if you could bring a food item for the BBQ. Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Ribs (Thanks Dave!), soda, water, or even buns will work out fine. I plan to have 2 grills going like last year and they will be the official Carlisle grills! I WON'T be raffling them off!
If anyone has a grill they wanna fire up to make some food under the tent, that will be great.
I'll also need a few people who would wanna work the grill or hand out food. Its strictly voluntary so post up if you wanna lend a hand or what you would like to bring for the BBQ.
Ill be grabbing some hot dogs and buns along with some condiments. Voula will be making some dessert goodies as well.
Its looking like a decent turn out this year so looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks.

I will also bring a case of Arizona ice tea bottles and a case of water bottles.
Last year I did 2 soda cases this year I figured I would go a little healthier with the drinks.

Let me know what last minute items you need via phone or pm.
I will be around to help out under the "big top":)

I will help set up, cook, serve food, and anything else that might need doing for the BBQ. I'll be bringing dessert. We'll also bring a package of dogs/brats/buns and drinks/ice.
Ladyhawke
05-05-2011, 06:02 PM
We will bring paper plates, cups, eating utensils, napkins, and hand wipes.
I can hand out food under the big top. But I'm not a great griller so I'll pass that to someone that won't burn (or under cook) the food.
We will also bring our tent for extra covered space.
Papillon
05-05-2011, 06:07 PM
I'll bring cookies, sodas, Italian sausage, I'll probably make some peppers & onions to go with that depending on fridge capacity and I'll bring the buns for those too. I'll also bring chips to munch on. And of course I'll be available to help in any other way (when I'm not playing with Chad :D)

Got my sticker in the mail today. Looks like we are in the "Yellow" showfield area. That appears to be back on the hill like in 2009 (unless the colors are shifted around in the new directory). Area code is "Y420". Not sure exactly where that is within the yellow area.
I've been all over the Carlisle Events site and I can't find the "Directory" or the "Site Map" for this year...... only the 2009 and 2010 directories in the archives.

I have the Carlisle All Ford Nationals on Facebook and posted a question about the new color maps for parking.
Is there a new color map available yet for where we will be on the show field?
Looks like us Mercury Marauder owners are in the yellow this year and we were wondering where that will be located vs the blue area we had last year?
This is the reply I got
Not yet Dave. Hoping to have that out to the clubs next week after the Import & Kit show this weekend.

Check for the on-line directory on the Carlisle site. It has a map of the showfield, vendor and RV/Camping areas. As I recall, it is in the northeast corner of the fairgrounds only a short walk to the showfield.
Currently, only the past directories from 2009 and 2010 are listed; but they will give you an indication of the RV/Camp area. Someone (Hwy73, post #38 ^^^) posted a PDF of last year's map somewhere in the Carlisle threads this year.

Notice the trend? Our early Carlisle attendance numbers long before we got involved with it put us in what was enough room for 10 cars. Then we got organized and they gave us some room front and center with enough room for 20 cars. We put our pre-registration numbers into the 30s the next year and they put us on the hill. Last year were are strongest numbers and they gave us a entire 2 lanes for parking in the back of the field. This year we had a weaker pre-registration list and we were cast up on the hill again.

I am more interest in Sheriff Taylor's police car from the Andy Griffith show. :D
On one service trip to the Mercury dealer after I got my Marauder, I lined up behind a "Batmobile" in the service lane. Apparently, Batman also had his car serviced there since it was basically a modified Lincoln.

I had the same trouble with my wife when I took her to the Washington Auto Show a couple years back. With 100s of cars on display of nearly every make and model, she finally had one that caught her eye. :D
It was a Baby Blue convertible .... inside the roped off area. A Bentley Continental GT convertible .... stickered at about $367,000 at the time. She said, "Oh, that looks nice". :o BTW -- she's driving an '06 Ford Freestyle thats almost paid off. The Bentley would have put a small crimp in the budget.

I want the Taurus for myself to use for normal driving and not get stuck in the house all winter like I usually am.
But I know we can not swing another car till next year. Having to listen to another year of why can't we do it now is not my favorite conversation.

I hope all of you will be hungry Saturday???
I just finished deboneing the ribs and into the containers.
15 lbs of ribs marinating in Sweet Baby rays BBQ Sauce. You had this last year.
15 lbs of ribs marinating in Soy Vay Veri veri Teriyaki sauce. This stuff is awesome.
So basically double the amount of ribs as last year seeing they all went and people only seemed to get 1 rib each this time everyone should be able to enjoy them more.
Plus picked up the 2 cases of drinks as well.
