Hey -
I'd like to remove the center console insert so that I can route my new RADAR detector (V1) power source to the outlet.
Is there a link to how to take out the insert?
Thanks to all!

Define "insert" a little better. Do you mean the storage box under the console arm rest?

Mark,
If you remove the center console, IIRC, you should be able to access the storage box from the bottom.
Check out this link for removal procedure:

The center console insert comes out by prying up around the edges and it will pop up. BTW.... The lid is part of of the insert.
Why route the V1 wire there?
Do you have the hardwire kit or the cigarette light plug?
If you have the hardwire kit you can route it over to the fuse box.

I was thinking it was secured from the bottom with clips, my bad! :o Thanks for clearing up, Jim.

I hardwired my V1 without touching the center consoles. Connect it by your fuse box and run the wire up the side of the windshield under the pillar cover and then along the top of the windshield to the center.

Yes hard wire to fuse box. Then mount your v1 with a sun visor clip you can get it from v 1 website visor mount is the best way it will pick up a signal further and quicker. Hard to see from outside the car. And will not get hot.

Shhhhhhh... don't tell anyone.... that's a secret....................
Actually I didn't want to hackup my original OH console when I installed the Scangauge so I got a Lincoln OH console on eBay, same color. The "R" button is to turn off & on the rear parking assist.
