Last Wednesday I got to see a friend shove-off on the USS George HW Bush. The first three pictures are of the ship as it was pushed back from the pier, before sunrise. The other two were shots as it transited past the south tunnel channel of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

Single up the lines

Very cool! I just spent the day touring the USS Yorktown. Lots of fun!

Yes it was. Seeing it pull out from the navy base, then driving over to the tunnel and watch it depart into the Atlantic was impressive.

Now I just need to figure out how to upload a 600MB video clip of the channel transit, and post it up...

Hmmmm.....You must have been hauling some SERIOUS ass to be on the pier when the ship shifts colors, make it off base in that traffic, and make it all the way to the Ches Bay Bridge Tunnel to see it pass....

Nice looking birdfarm! Fair winds and following seas!
