Well, just wanted to share the joy. The Mars lander Spirit landed successfully around 45 minute's ago (11:30 PM EST).

Yup, have checked them both when I first heard about it, and don't have the harness rubbing under the hood.

It did more than just land...it's working, sending back telemetry and pictures. Enough said.

I'm happy it's working,... but... for all the money spent on it, why are the pics in black & white?! :rolleyes:

IMO we shoud've had a person on Mars by now. When was the last time we were on the moon? ... like '71 right? We should at least have an outpost there by now! sheesh.

I've only seen B&W pics on CNN and Fox News. Maybe I should check it out again.
