Overall, the Lincoln is built a bit better than the MM, ie the quality of the plastic, leather, etc is a few notches higher. However, whereas the Lincoln does not have a hood light, the MM does. The Lincoln has lighted coutesy lights in the doors, the MM has a red reflector. ???? Lincoln has more electronic gadgets, etc....

Having driven both cars I can tell you this: The Lincoln will accelerate faster off the line, but the MM will eventually overtake it....... The MM's 4.6 seems to pull stronger and longer. I modded my LSC with a chip and 80mm MAF and the MM is factory stock......

The Lincoln had the Single Overhead Cam?

I thought they were essentially the same engines. I'll wager the Mk.VIII is a bit lighter, though.

Nope, DOHC. Lower rating though... 280HP. 1/4 in 15.4 according to Motor Trend.

I owned a 98 Mark 8 LSC last year and thought is was a nice car, but found out I could no longer live with a 2-door. Traded that in for a 2001 Lincoln LSC which developed transmission trouble. Saw the Marauder while I was at the L/M dealer to get the LS fixed. Took a test drive in the Marauder and you know the rest of the story!
