Are you referring to an engine swap or adding a cobra blower to a marauder?

I am refering to taking the stock engine out and replacing it the 03-04 Cobra reman motor.

^^^^^ What he said. ^^^^^^

If you're asking about the Eaton M112 swap, I collected the necessary parts over a 14 month period, primarily due as a "pay as you go" plan, and then the install was done by ImpalaSlayer over a two week period (part-time on evenings and weekends.

If a guy had all the necessary cash in hand, really focused on finding and acquiring all the parts, you could prolly get everything rounded up in two - three weeks. Fabbing the remaining parts and doing the actual swap could be done in two - three days if you stuck with it and had access to a well-equipped shop.

Rick, Dave, Mark, others, feel free to chime in.

If you know what you're doing, have an extra pair of hands and plenty of tools, that should be 2 to 3 days.

With all parts it should be a two weekends project.

Do you plan on using the OEM Cobra front skirt? If so, you'll have to notch the frame.

Marauder Rick

I think his point is that it would be a lot more convenient to just slap on the Marauder front cover and do the rest of the eaton swap. Mainly because of post #7 I suppose.

ImpalaSlayer

because the mm timing cover is alot easier to work on stuff

You will need to retain the MM oil pan, pu tube and get a new specific flywheel

RacerX

Get a Trilogy.

Can be done in a weekend on your original motor.

No, I said "original" motor.

ImpalaSlayer

i bet the op picked up a entire cobra motor for less then a trilogy.

No, I said "original" motor.

You assume his "original motor" is aok, maybe it is or maybe it is not. With 9 years on many MM the "original motor" is not ok and the 2003-04 Cobra's are far superior for S/C.
The Trilogy at $6,500 is a large investment for a car that is not worth much more than that.

^^^^^ Yup. ^^^^^ but if he goes with the MM front cover, he's going to need Terry's brackets.

Also, with the cooling config differences between a Mustang and a Marauder, will the swap require mods to the COT or hose routings?

RacerX

Ask Casey. I imagine he will say a dress with light colors, probably airy cotton to breathe, panties optional.

Well then, you have nothing to be worry about. Unless you want the whole swap done in like 2 hrs or something.

I thought he was going with an Eaton Cobra, not so. Won't need 'em if he's going with a Vortech.
