Rex,

I have been working with our Server Administrator - Doug, and the redirect was just resolved.

Try again....

:D

Mike.

Edit - Doug did the work, I was testing after he applied changes.

Thanks Doug!

I'm back up and running now but I have to admit I panicked a bit

The redirect from last night was a problem for less than 90 minutes. IT was the unfortunate result of trying to fix another problem. It lasted 90 minutes because I took the time to commute 40 miles and get some dinner

Ive disabled all the "modifications" to Vbulletin in the belief that one of them is causing the reply/submit problem

this disabled things like the new posts link and about 10 other features - some visible some not.

Now you all need to test to see if the submit/reply problem still persists - if it doesnt then we will reenable the "modifications" one at a time

As we continue to troubleshoot any issues, please use this thread to update with any reply/refresh problems. That will help us narrow down any culprit plug-in we're using.

From what I've noticed, the problem only exist on the home page. Also, the disappearance of the "# posts since your last visit" option seems to go hand and hand with the issues. So, I would recommend using any thread bookmarked to access the site and just read from the "todays posts" option. And if you notice while surfing normally that your "# posts since your last visit" option has gone away, don't click the "home" tab because it is going to redirect you. These are the trends that I have noticed.

good troubleshooting ... Lets see if it continues..

the "# posts since your last visit" is one of the mods thats disabled ... If you dont have problems posting when you CANT see that on the upper right then - that backs up my suspicion that one of the mods ( not necessarily that one ) is the culprit

Brad,

More than likely, that is one of the 'mods' that is currently disabled during troubleshooting. (I don't have that link either)

If there are any further issues experienced, please post them up here.

While it may take some time, we will turn on the "modifications" one at a time and see if any bring back the issues. It's really the only way to troubleshoot to find the exact cause.

That's correct, Ray. That's one of the modifications that was disabled to try to figure out what's causing the posting problem. Modifications are "add-ons" to the vBulletin software that customizes the website. We are turning the mods on one at a time to see if the issue reappears.

I've just noticed something crazy. If i hit the "unread post" tab while on the home screen, it redirects me. However, if i am already in the thread listing or anywhere else other than the home page, everything is fine. I just tested the "unread posts" tab from 7 different locations numerous times and it only failed from the home screen.
