A drunk in a "jacked" Lincoln p/u ran into the back of our parked car close to totalling it and ran away, they caught the drunk as eye witnesses called the police.
I got to watch his "jacked" vehicle get towed away and him get taken away in hand cuffs. Then he tells the insurance company it never happened. A second DWI offender with box wine and pain pills all over the vehicle. Then he posts about some of it on face book.
When he posted he was moving to SF next week I told the insurance company either they accept responsibilty today or I was filing a lawsuit for PUNITIVE DAMAGES and being a second offender in our Parish the jury will hammer him.
The insurance co called me back in 20 minutes with an EFT payment!
Had this moron not had a "jacked" car the damage would have been minimal. Had he hurt my family,....................... , you get the picture.

Very sorry to hear! Sounds like you've had your hands full with the ins co. How did you discover the FB account?

Dang, Billy! sorry to hear about the car, but as long as no one's hurt.
Just curious, what was weapon, caliber, and range (ft, yards, etc.) for that grouping?

Good thing it was the wife's car or I would have used my hands!
Look him up on FB via his name on the report, he blocked on account from viewing him so we just used another account to view his incriminating postings.
Punitive Damages puts the insurer in a bad spot. I know it will be impossible to get an atty to handle a case this size when he has flew the coup to SF. Fortunately his insurer paid in full.

Sorry to hear about the damage of the car and the runaround with the insurance company, but very glad no one was hurt. Hope he gets what's coming to him

Thanks, only gave me the run around because of his lying denial.
His GF came out there crying for him. I asked her why, he is a bad person. He left the scene, did not leave a note, continued to endanger the lives of others, now that he's caught denies it and keeps screaming for Uncle Mike the State Trooper to save him?
I told her tears should be for the people whose cars he ran into.

See that what's suck today! ***** heads like this guy run into others peoples cars and then try and cry the blues saying they deserve a break, yeah I'll give 'em a break, how in the neck!
BIlly I am glad you able to get something for the mess he caused.
Through 'em jail along with the lawyers and judges that let 'em off and try and get 'em off.

And they did, very professional and courteous.
He was so drunk when he returned to the scene he speed over the speed bumps popping his tire. 3 police cars circled him. They kept him away from us until he was in the back and hand cuffed.
They then drove him to where we were.
I didn't get mad until several days latter when he started lying to the insurance company repeatedly. My fear was he would flee to SF and since it was on private property the Police might not do an accident report. His arrest report is not released until he is adjudicated, 6 months or more.

Sad to hear about the accident Billy. For one that has shot his 454, it hurts so nice..You should see him throw an axe.

Sorry to hear this. Hope it all works out through the insurance company. Glad they caught this "fine upstanding citizen".
My MM spends 99% of its home life in my driveway. But on that 1% rare occasion that it is on the street, I worry about some idiot doing a rear ender or sideswipe while texting or drinking or something.

Same thing happened when my wife was hit head on by a drunk on 12-28-09. He told his insurance co it was my wifes fault. Even after he pled guilty to DWI, passing a red light and was terminated from his employment, school bus driver with a history of drug abuse. Unbelieveable and they refused to pay until "their" investigation was closed. I sent it through my collision coverage as we needed to replace that car or get the MM out in the winter. They finally took liability for the accident 6 months later and we were made whole. PITA. My rates did not go up.

Don’t Try This At Home!
Now the rest of the untold story.
Katrina caused a displacement of a large number of people and therefore criminals.
After we returned to our home, which I acquired through enormous effort and sacrifice, I noticed a “Gangsta” walking down the main street in the afternoon. I then saw him make a “transaction” with who turned out to be the former neighborhood crack head.
As a result of Katrina many families “united” living back under the same roof due to a housing shortage.
I pulled up slow next to “Gangsta” who was on foot and he walked closer to met to peer inside my Marauder. I whipped out my camera and took his picture, much to his consternation. He began walking quickly, albeit unknowingly towards my home.
“Gangsta” walked by just in time.
I then knocked on everyone’s door to alert them to “Gangsta” and his customer. Eventually I unknowingly knocked on the door of a man who was the customers father. He asked a lot of questions about what I had witnessed.
To my knowledge “Gangsta” never returned and I never saw the customer again.
