How's it going guys I'm new to the forums and I'm one lucky 2003 mercury maruader owner....it's a pleasure to drive and see... Unfortunetly I'm having some issues with it... The rear end is slammed and won't come up here's what I've done so far

the pump works I can hear it come on although there is a hissing sound coming from the dryer... I can see the orange seal... However I can't feel any air escaping from the dryer... But when I push it in the hissing sound goes away... I checked all air lines and connections. I checked the line from the compressor to the air bags no leak found.. Started the car and checked for any air escaping from the air bags didn't feel anything plus I coated them with soapy water no bubbles seen... I jacked the rear end up and once the car reaches rear ride height it shuts off the pump so I wanna say the sensor is good..... I don't think it's a module.... I wanna say it's the dryer but like I said before didn't feel any air escaping.... Maruder gurus help me out....lol thanks alot for your time guys....

Dumb question, but is it shut off in the trunk?

No the switch is on .... I double checked that a couple times... ! Lol

Try this: disconnect the air line at the compressor and open a door (you need to open a door to trigger the system). This should allow you to inflate the RAS using an external air tank. If the system fills and proper ride height is established, shut off the trunk switch to prevent the system from triggering and reconnect the compressor. If everything holds fine for a day or so, then you know the air bags and solenoids are not leaking. This leaves either a defective compressor, or a leak in the air line somewhere between the compressor and the air bags.

Actually I forgot to mention that last Thursday I was Checking all the wires and lines with the car racked up... And I forgot to turn off the switch ( tha car was already slammed) when I removed it from the lift and drive it outside ride height was restored I cycled the key and it just stayed at ride height... 6 hours later I go turn on the car .. Once I turn on the car it bottoms out again... So I believe my bags hold pressure

The compressors in these cars wear out well before anyone believes they should. Mine did several years ago at like 55k IIRC. You can save some cash if you do it yourself. I had to have mine done as it was in the middle of winter and I'm done working on cars in freezing temps and snow. There are threads here with links to buy the compressors. It will save you a lot if yourself.

Once I turn on the car it bottoms out again... So I believe my bags hold pressureIf they held air until you started the car, it sounds like the system was commanding the bag solenoids to open so they could be inflated more, but that there was no pressure to do so. Did the compressor run when the car dropped? If not, there's your culprit...if it DID run and the car dropped anyway, then you most likely have a leak in the line from the compressor to the back end...

Like rayjay said, these compressors fail at an alarming rate...air line leaks are much less common.

No doubt the pump is bad.

I wanna say the pumps not creating enough pressure..

My original pump was louder than its replacement is. It also does not run near s often as the original did. :dunno:

The bags are pumped..... Didn't touch anything didn't even hear much of the pump... After it got up to ride height I switch off the air suspension and left it like that... My new compressor from arnot should be here on Friday ... This air suspension stuff is tripping me out
