One gauge = two displays, so if you have a three gauge pod, adding this will give you the equivilant of four gauges.

In my opinion the Livewire is over kill for the average owner, the Xcal 3 is just fine the Live wire does allow for viewing the PIDS or data and comes with a wind shield mount the live wire has now been replaced by a blue tooth version thats about 800.00 OUCH, but its neat fo those that want it but for the general porpose the Xcal 3 is fine.
