Mac is undergoing surgery on Monday to repair his right shoulder and arm, broken in a fall in January. He looks forward to gaining his right arm back so he can start posting here and driving his beloved Shelby GT, Lulu. Mac had such a wonderful time in Louisville, meeting long time friends and making new friends. He looks forward to attending Marauderville 9.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Feel free to send him good wishes in this thread! We'll keep you posted on his status.

Mac is a true friend and a great guy that served the majority of his life as a LEO for the Chicago PD.
Humbled I was to find out he held off surgery so he could attend this past years Louisville Regional.
MERCMAN will be traveling to Chicago for the day of the surgery and will keep Mary, Bob and myself in the loop as the procedure unfolds and thru post-op.

Mac, it's GREAT to hear that you are still up and running--lost contact for a looong time--much to loong--tried to contact about the time you retired and apparently got my phone #s mixed up. Glad to hear you are still running with the pack;)Just last nite, I was looking for some pics for my Grandaughter needed, and ran across all the pics from Ennis in 2003 (MV I)-That was a great time for me--the "fly-by" at 110 mph--the car wash at Waffle House--Marty getting bitten hard by the "Marauder Bug" (look where he is now--and it all started there)--the meeting of you and your group on the way to Ennis--the midnite "time trials" between Dennis and Jerry--when I "stole" a Marauder--- Logan , Bob and the gang really put on a great show. I can't do much travelling now--can't leave home overnight--Ginny's having some problems. Miss you and the "old " gang. Get well soon, Maury:beer::burnout:

To a speedy recovery and short PT program there Mac----------
Have always thought of Mac as one of the original icons here at the .net----
I met Mac back in '03 in Alt,Ga at one of those Team dyno days-----....hands me the keys to MM 1x and says stay close to Todd going to the muffler shop....wow ---Me getting to drive Mac's KB MM-----cool!...felt like a teenager getting my first drive experience----took off from a big intersection with Mac saying don't lose him and we go sideways across the intersection after Todd....
Oh Yeah---my first intro with Mac---some things are meant to last forever---and meeting him for the first time that day is forever----
Taker care and hope to see ya in Pa for MM IX

Thanks for posting Gary!
Just got off the phone with Dan (MERCMAN), and he filled me in on how Mac's surgery went.
Steel plate and screws, no bone graft and all appears well.
Hospital stay should be a couple days while the healing process begins.
Dan and Julie are heading out for a bite to eat, then back to the hospital where Mac should be in his room by then.
Dan will call me in the morning with further updates.
:)

Well, Mac was released to home yesterday. He'll be able to do PT and OT at home. Pain is still high but that will subside in time. We sent him a beautiful bouquet of blue, white and purple flowers. He was overwhelmed!
He's very grateful for the well wishes sent! Please keep the good thoughts and prayers coming!

Mac returns to the surgeon today to get his staples out. PT will be on his To Do list after discussing it with the doctor. I told him he can get plenty of PT logging into MM.Net! :D We know how important keyboard and mouse skills are. Driving Lulu again is his ultimate goal. I look forward to being a passenger on that ride!

Hello my friends.
First...I need to apologize for this belated reply. No excuses, just explanations. I've been very lax in my computerings and I've lost a lot of my talent, as well as my physical ability to resucciate all of that at once. However, thanks to (almost every half hour) of guidance from the Bunny in my ear, I'm getting back on the right track. Explanations concluded, forgiveness is your decision, but either way, don't ****** with the Bunny.
Two...
My Lord...Your comments and well wishing have been invaluable to me in my recovery. Dan, Mary, Gary and Dominick contributted by reading them to me daily, and I thank you all for your compassionate thoughts, prayers and posts.
Your thoughts, prayers and good tidings warmed my heart, especialiy for one who hasn't been around these parts for years, but can still be remembered in the manner I have been honored with.
Please remember that anyone who posts about such life changing events still needs to be remembered by old and distant friends. The value of such is priceless in recovery of the one sidelined by illness or injury. Remember them, even by something as simplistic as a get well note here. Pay forward? May be your turn one day, and I (for one) will noy miss that day.
What else is also priceless here, is the dedication of a few who understand their priceless value. I am speaking of Dan (Mercman) and Mary (MM03MOK). Dan traveled over 500 miles one way to come to Chicago and stand by my side from Sun (Jun 5th) through my surgery (Jun 6th) and recovery (Jun 7th). He and Julie didn't budge until ROP (relieved on post) by Mary, who flew in from MA (2K miles one way) on Tues (evening of Jun 7th). Mary remained with me through my discharge (Jun 10), and at my side through the following Sunday (Jun 12). Both Mary and Dan left only because work beconed them to return home. Even Dominick showed up, armed with magazines and a real "get well" card, the young man grows old along with all of us.
Never before have I been so complimented by such a strong showing of friendship, and "the ties that bind" have been outlined for me. Where esle on our infamous "www" has this binding among friends shown it's face? Nowhere I know for sure. After 30+ years with the CPD as an LEO (and through many life threating injuries to boot), I had never experienced this level of friendship and dedication to each other as friends before. Never before. Thus...It's not just about a car. It's about us. And, the better we fine tune it, the better it will run.
My time is up, and I have not begun to express my thanks. Therefore, I'm at 312.401.1396, or, SergntMac@AOL.COM.
Y'all be safe, and remember to "pay it forward".
