Did anyone answer the first question? If not, it was a caddy but it was only mentioned in the beginning of the film. The car that replaced it and was known as the bluesmobile was a former Mt Prospect 1974 Dodge Monaco with the 270 horsepower 440 big block. This same 440 before smog, put out up to 370 horsepower in those 1969 Polara police cars. The next bluesmobile was a 1990 LTD Crown Vic for the Sequel "Blues Brothers 2000".

88LTDCV351
06-07-2011, 07:09 PM
Also, according to an article by Dodge, Dan Ackroyd's brother in law still has the original 74 Dodge Monaco.

88LTDCV351
06-07-2011, 07:11 PM
Also, I believe it was said that the interior color in the movie for the 74 was not the correct color for Mt. Prospect PD. If I recall correctly, the color interior in the film was the color more commonly used in California Highway Patrol cars.

Yep. The bridge jump was filmed on an actual drawbridge, the 95th Street bridge over the Calumet River, on the southeast side of Chicago.

Who knows where they filmed the scene where the Illinois Nazis launched their car off "into oblivion" at the end of the unfinished bridge (i.e. where was the bridge located)?

I believe it's Skokie.

Actually, in the final car chase scene, the shot leading up to the car drop, where the "Illinois Nazis" drive off a freeway ramp; was shot in Milwaukee near the Hoan Bridge on I-794. At the time, the Lake Freeway (North) was under construction and it contained an unfinished ramp that the Nazis "drove off". f you drive over that section now, the Summerfest grounds will be right below you.

Name the actor who was in both "The Blues Brothers" and "Die Hard" and the characters played (Hint: had more screen time in Die Hard).

That would be De'voreaux White.

He was the Young Guitar Thief in the Blues Brothers, and he played the character Argyle in Die Hard.

What was the (real) name of the caretaker at the orphanage? And for bonus points. What song did he sing while waiting for the Blues Brothers to show up at the concert?
