Yeah, he (the owner) approached Paul & I outside of our hotel room. He said that this concept drives like a dream and handles incredibly! We told him that if we could we'd buy it and have it as the site's "mascot" sort-a-speak. Lol. He said it's an amazing car and Ford was stupid not to forge ahead with the plans to produce it.
We were so excited that we were talking to the owner that we forgot to ask if it can be/is registered or even able to be driven "legally". He did mention however that he'd driven it around and people always stop and ask him about it so.... :dunno: who knows.

Nice guy, he was parked next to me at the Hotel Carlisle and had my ear for a half hour about the car.
It was originally limited to 30mph but that was "adjusted" as he called it by a Ford tech in the area. He said the car is very solid and quiet due to the frame supports that were put in and its fast. He said its the way it should have came from the factory.
I'm going to try pulling some strings and see what I can do to have this car make a apperance at MV9. ;)

Does that mean it could be licensed?

Interesting ... 2FAFP is a Crown Vic VIN. I think the first "X" should be a number like 2 (2002) or 3 (2003) to indicate the model year. Maybe that "X" is the experimental/concept VIN designator.
Assuming it passed, it could be registered AFTER emission and crash testing....
If I remember correctly the VIN is a '99 Crown Vic...
EDIT Yep it's a '99 Vic... Plug the VIN into this decoder...

It's awesome, but it would be cheaper to buy the $9k Marauder on Jalopnik and have a shop chop the top off for you...

If they had made it, I would be a Marauder owner right now.

That reminds me. Did anybody see the goofy Vic-chero that was posted there a couple of weeks ago? There was also a town car one...
