So I'm looking to get a new DD that's decent on gas, looks nice, and obviously be reliable. No toyotas, hondas, and jap crap. Ideally it'd have to be something comparable to the MM in acceleration and handling, otherwise I'd end up driving my MM every day still just cuz I love it. The budget is looking to be 8k-16k and I'd be bringin cash and we all know cash talks when it comes to pricing so if it's a little higher than 16 and I could get it down than that'd work too. Timeframe would be 2-3 months... Can't wait guys, any help would be appreciated!

V8 impala ss

Looked at a few... Not quite what I was looking for as for a DD but it would certainly look pretty parked next to my marauder in the garage!

+1 on the Fusion, it's a great car, but as you are looking for options you might consider

A Taurus, or maybe a used Lincoln. Check this out

Now that's a daily driver! How are the LS's in terms of reliability?

Now that's a daily driver! How are the LS's in terms of reliability?

I've never owned one, but from what I hear they are pretty good. I looked at them real hard when I was looking for a daily driver a couple of years ago, but I found an 03 LX Vic that I loved, then I got my Marauder last year and that became my DD as the Mustang is still my weekend joy

But I liked the LS a lot, quiet comfy ride, had good get up and go, and it's a Lincoln. I would have been very happy driving it everyday

Unsure of reliabiity?

Word has it they cost big $$ when in need of repair(s).

and the fusion?

I asked several Dealerships and people I know and trust about the Fusion's track record, and was told they do not break.

Service history is excellent on these cars. Specifically the 08's as what I was looking for and ultimately purchased.

Just got back from a 1800 mile trip, and got around 28 MPG hauling 2 adults and a trunk-load of gear.

Look, I talked them down to $15k. Add sales tax, bringing it up to $16,300 or so.

Purchased a Ford Premium Care, 5/60 for $1,750 with a $100.00 deductible that covers everything!

You can steal a Mercury Milan right now simply because Mercury is not around anymore but we all know all the parts are the same as the Fusion. Great cars.

Do not get a licoln ls. They are nice cars but I have heard storys of bad head gaskets on both motors. And they are not easy to work on. I tell lots of people about the fusion. I don't have one but the people that do own them love them. And I think the sport package ones look sexy with black on black.

So I know I should stay in the ford family, but are there any comparable other makes, ie: BMW, Audi etc... I don't want to be closed minded. The fusion sport is looking like a great viable option

I do not know about the LS but the 2007 Fleet turn in Taurus we bought as a daily driver has not been anything but reliable and great in all kinds of weather.

Got it for $10,000.00 with less than 30,000 miles on it almost 3 years ago. It already has 80,000 miles on it and so far just normal maintenance work done.

Get yourself a slightly used Grand Marquis. You can get a used 2010 with around 20k miles for $16-18k. Not a performer but I love the heck out of mine and it can get 28mpg on the highway if you keep it at 70 mph. Found mine on Craigslist.
