I have an custom dyno tune and was wondering where should the driving/park idle should be set at? As of right now I changed the driving idle to 800 and the park idle is set to 600. I think the driving idle was set around 600 to 700 from the guy who tuned it. Would it affect my tune by changing the driving idle?

Changing the idle should have no effect on any other part of the tune!
I take it she was stalling on you?

600? Seems low.

Usually the in-park idle would be set higher then the in-drive idle. If you have U/D pullies, your in-drive idle should be around 750-850 rpms to cure any charging issues. Normally its around 650-750 stock if I remember correctly and the in-park was around 850-900.

Yes she was stalling, when I set the driving idle to 800 it seemed as though she came alive. She has more pep now

No, I do not have under drive pullies. I have jlt cai, flow masters, and rear cat deleted. That is all for now until she is supercharged by the end of the year.:banana2:

Stock: Idle Speed Drive=544
Idle Speed Neutral=640
May want to check ISC Duty Cycle.
You should NOT have to up the idle that much, esp. with no ud pulleys.

544 RPM seems really low. Even my fusion idles around 650.

That's why I got the data directly from the stock tune in SCT PRP itself for BMD0. I remembered it was something weird. You have adders too though that compensate for other loads.

They did seem to idle low from the factory. Lidio sets his at ~700 in his base tune if I remember correctly. I had asked for the "police spec" 800-in-park when I ordered mine and he said he stayed away from that because it might clunk into gear too hard for some people's taste. Of course on the police cars, we liked to feel them go into gear! (Plus they charged better and pulled the A/C better)

Mine's the opposite. Got it back from Tim's and it's idling about 1100 in gear, and 1000 out. If my foot slips off the brake at a light or wherever, whatever I hit will set off my ****g airbags!

It's also slamming 2nd to 3rd gear. My wife's about to kill me, or sue me for whiplash. ;-)

Ideas?

I set mine at 950 or so in park and 900 in gear IIRC. I'm back to stock currently and it is LOW, feels like it could stall. Hate it.

I have mine set at 900rpms while parked and in gear.
Just adjust the rpms from the Xcal. Also. I have mine set at 900rpms but looking at the rpm gauge it looks like it reads about 1000. So what you see is not necessarily what it really is in some cases.
