Hey Guys, a friend of mine had a 2002 Trans Am LS1 pro charged, his mechanic says he`s going to be making 825hp with his S/C..
His mechanic has him going for a new rear, a Dana 60 what i`m here to ask you guys, what would a FAIR price be for the Rear End built and installed ?
Thanks for the input guys .......... thanks in advance.....

It all depends on the parts he's using, the labor involved, labor rate charged, etc.
IMHO.... too many variables to give a FAIR price.

My friend Lou suggested a 9" for the car. He has the same HP and never has a issue with it plus you can change the ratio in a hour.

Dana 60's are big bucks, a friend of mine just spent $3500 on one for his t/a, not including labor.

He is using a place in Setauket, last year he did a procharger install , new mickey thompsons on the rear, hydrolic exhaust dump, gauge pillar install, the dyno was @ 625rwhp, he was whacked 16k for the job ! I thought it was insane, but he`s got the $$ and has no patience....
He is now going for the lower end rebuild(LS1) 8k and rear end 3.3k,then retune and dyno and the guys telling him he will then be making 825hp @ the rear wheels..
I sure wish I had the :censor: $$! ,....hearing prices like this turn my stomach, but it has been said there is :censor: for every seat !

Thanks Billy - I think I'll take the pass on that shop!
I may be doing the whole rear myself just to keep my mind at ease about the quality of the workmanship - if it goes boom I only have to yell at the guy in the mirror!

Will do!
I just talked to my friend at C&D Automotive in Rocky Point - he will be doing all the work on the rear end!
