Welcome to the newest Eaton Swap Club, Me!!!
Well Ive been wanting to do this since I had first seen Justbobs Trilogy and Zacks Eaton swap about 2 years ago. Well I finally did it.
A huge helping hand goes out to Bob, of Justbob Motorsports:D. We started it about 3 weeks ago. Late night here and a late night there. I think we spent more time chatting like two chicks than we did working!! It all went very smoothly. Of course the hardest part was the COT. Id like to say thanks to Hans at Deans Performance out near my house for cutting and welding up the COT. What a pain in the rear!!! Other than that. It was soooooo much fun.
I thought of buying a Trilogy but after calling Jerry and being quoted $7,600 shipped. Thats toooooo steep of a price. With the money I have saved from the swap. I bought mostly new parts and a bunch of suspension goodies that I will be installing in the coming weeks.
I do know the Trilogy kit is an awesome kit for sure. But I learned sooooooo much more about our engine and related components by doing the Eaton Swap than just following a step by step kit. Plus we made some nice brackets for the battery tray to make it much more secure and some nice brackets for the fuse box too. There was a little grinding of the alt bracket to clear the water pump pulley. No biggie. The Eaton is all about making it how you want to make it. I would do it again in a heart beat. Be it my car or anothe members car.
I owe justbob and justmelanie and huge Thank you for having me over for dinners, my wise cracks, many late nights, and my car taking up their entire garage, Bobs know how, and their patience. The whole experience was sooo much fun!!!
I also want to thank Rex for emailing me nicely streamlined documents of info for the swap. That made it so much easier than disecting the Eaton Swap thread for sure!!
Another thanks to Zack for getting my car up and going safely untill my dyno tune at Mr Norms this coming Thursday.
Enough blah blah blah. Here are some pics. Not to many as youve seen swaps before.

No long tubes. I do have shorties but I'll save those for a rainy day next year. I'm in no hurry for those. They would most likely just be for a cool looking factor.

Adam theres a build sheet with approx prices floating around you can find it searching. The nicest thing about them in my opinion if you got time you can take youre sweet time locating parts for best prices possible. There was a guy last week on chicago svt selling a 04-cobra lwr and intercooler for 200 or 250.00 each usual price for them is around 350.00 ea. I got a good clean eaton w/plenum/39lb injectors/stk termi air tube/used gt fuel pump I of the idlers youll need and a few nick nack things I didnt use cause going with whipple had to upgrade. If interested shoot me a pm we can talk Id like to get rid of this stuff can make a good deal:beer:

Cost for an Eaton Swap will range from about $3,000 to around $4,500, depending on what kind of deals you can find on parts, and how much work you do yourself.
I think Zack did his for a just over $3K, but he had some stuff laying around and did 100% of the work himself.
ImpalaSlayer did his car for around $3,500 IIRC.
I'm pretty sure Swordfish did his for $4,000 or less.
I spent around $3,500 in purchased parts (spent 12 - 14 months shopping for deals), and with the remainder of fabbed parts, installation, and dyno tune, I invested just a touch under $4,500 total.
Joe's has his costs detailed above.
The big drawback (if you want to call it that) to an Eaton swap is the time and effort to hunt down and buy the parts, but IMO, that was one of the most enjoyable aspects of the whole project. Not only did I get a chance to interact with a bunch of great folks along the way, I really learned a bunch about supercharging, and about the 4.6L engine. Like Joe said in an earlier post, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I was originally gonna to a custom built stroked 5.0 litre before I came across my Alluminator deal in some ways kinda wish I had, more cubes and more flow with some nice cams. Guess that will have to wait until next time. Personally I think Racer should get the 3.4 Whipple Zack is selling ;) & just sell the ported Eaton. Youd be much happier Racer!!
