Just thought this may also be of some help to those with window problems. My driver's side window wouldn't go up or down, damn thought I may have to invest into another swithc or motor, aggravated to say the least, so I searched out a thread about a quick fix. Skeptical at first then thought what the hell I'll give it a try. The thread said to turn on the car to accesory & then slam the door while depressing the switch, I did this several times & "wella" it worked, the window went up & down with some hesitation. Then I spoke to a neighbor car guy with a Jaguar, who had the same problem & he told me to get a can of spray silicone which I did. I took the can inserted the plastic straw into the nozzle then lowered the window & sprayed the tracks several times & now the window goes up & down with ease. I hope this solution can help anyone else.

Besides lubing the track, the switch contacts are dirty. It should be taken apart and cleaned. There's a thread on this.

+1. Take the window switch apart as much as possible and you will see the metal contacts to power the windows up and down. You can take some sand paper to the contacts and the switch will work just fine again. Saved me some good money because I had two or three of mine go bad and fixed them with ease.
