We've had threads about what our first car was, now do you still have it? If so post a picture of it when you got it and what it looks like now, if there is a difference.

Mine is my 1990 Chevrolet K5 Blazer. No pics at the moment, not my computer. I still have it too.

What about you?

Mine was a 1971 Chevelle .... silver with black interior. 307 CID. It is long gone. I really liked that car; but stepped up to a 1974 Dodge Charger during the summer of '74. That one is long gone too. :o

My first car was a 1947 Willys CJ, followed by a 1961 Ford Fairlane sedan, and numerous other cars after that.

Here's a pic of one of my favorites 1965 GTO, owned from Feb 1970 until Aug 1972). What's left of the shell is sitting in a guy's field near Green Lake, WI (drivetrain and interior stripped).

My '65 GT Fastback was a dark blue...the first car that I actually owned!
Rebuilt the entire engine and painted/detailed the engine bay. (Previous owner had blown the 289 4bbl and put in a Mercury 302 2bbl.)
Loved that car!
I was 'hit-and-run' while parked out front late one night....messed up the right front pretty bad.
The D-bag who hit me drove off and disappeared...:mad2:
I was in college and had no collision insurance on it....:bigcry:....so I sold it for $1,700.

1987 oldsmobile cutlass ciera. 4cyl auto. There were so many things wrong with it, I don't know where to start... It ate more gas than my current v10 4x4 excursion, as it got 170 miles on a 15 gallon tank. The gas gauge didn't work, so I found out the mileage the hard way. luckily, i never ran out of gas on a long trip because the thing overheated after about 40 miles at night and 20 miles during the day. The passenger door didn't lock properly, so on occasion, on left hand turns, it would swing open. It once got defeated by a moderately steep hill... just stalled and started rolling backwards.

I don't have it anymore, and I hope no one does. In fact, let me rephrase that, I hope it's been crushed and reborn as something more useful and reliable, preferrably something faster and with a longer range and more economical, like a yo-yo for example.

Oooooh, I had a '71 LTD 2-door. What a boat! Great car though, only car I've ever owned that I didn't have to push the seat all the way back to drive comfortably.

This wasn't my car, but it's the same color paint and vinyl top as the one I had.

Technically, the 1st car I ever "owned", a '70 Olds Cutlass S, 350 2bbl, blue, black vinyl top, black split bench, was unceremoniously removed from my possession by an individual I wish death upon daily (yep, someone stole it, in 1992!). The replacement for that car was my '72 Olds Cutlass Supreme, 350 4bbl, Green/Green vinyl, dark saddle bucket/console car, which I still have. Motor and trans were done in '07 but the northeast winters have not been kind to her (uncovered, outside!). I just hope she stays together long enough for me to restore with my sons.

1988 F-250 Custom Flatbed with a 4spd and 300 CID I6. It was a recently retired vehicle in my dad's company's fleet. I still have it, but I hardly drive it anymore except for the two months of deer season out of the year. That truck is a tank, though. It's not fast by any means, but runs like a champ and does great pulling under a load.

My second was a lt blue 1994 CV LX that I loved and babied up until the day I traded it in on my Marauder. It's now owned by some guy in my hometown who looks to have since put it into a tree. I cringe a little every time I see it drive past :(. Many great memories in that car.

My Crown Victoria on the day I traded it in for my Marauder. I was a little sad to see it go, but felt immensely happy once I had the Marauder. Come to think of it, maybe I'm still a bit hickish.

First car was a 1962 Mercury Comet, light blue, ivory interior. 3-speed on the column with no synchro first. It eventually rotted to death, but it was what I learned to drive in. It had no seat belts, power steering or power brakes I remember paralell parking it was a huge PITA. The 4-banger motor still ran great, never gave me any problems.
I've had a love affair with Mercury ever since.

In 1959, I bought my first car, a 1953 Ford, dark blue, 4 dr flathead, three on the tree, for $250. (Sold it for $275 in just five months for a 55 Ford convert.)

Everytime I watch an old 1950's movie with a police chase involved, there's a twin of my car being driven by the police. (Especially the 50's sci/fi movie "THEM".)

Brings back a lot of memories, but looking back, it's not one of the many cars I've owned that I'd say "I never should have sold....".

My first car was a 1974 Ford F-100 pickup. It must have been the original owner's pride and joy as it was a two-tone paint, Ranger XLT model with the 390 FE block, a C6, and factory air conditioning.

It wasn't in as good of a shape when I adopted it. The bed was too rusted to keep, so it got a wooden stake-body and some new cab corners.

I still have it and it has been in the process of getting built back up for some time now. I think since I will be moving back to New England in a few weeks and my dad is now retired, I'm going to see if he's interested in working on it as a father-son project. We never got to do much in that sense in the past and now that I'm in my early 30s and the wife and I are talking about starting a family, it's something I don't want to miss out on with my dad.

My Dad bought this new in late 1973 and I bought it from him after I came back from overseas in 1976. I sold it to a guy at work in 1980. About 6 months later I had arranged to buy it back and that very day his wife tore the side off it at Springdale Mall in Mobile, AL. Best looking car I ever owned.

My First car was a 1972 Mustang (Rustang is more like it!) which was a bondo queen when I got it. After restoration and engine updates (mexican Block 302 with 68 4V heads) it lasted through last year of college when a Buick Lesabre kissed the rear end in the college parking lot. I parted it out and sent the Rustang to Victory Auto Wreckers in Bensenville, IL! God rest it's soul!

#2 is my 1973 Cougar XR7 which now has a 414 Ford Modified (0.060 over 400 Ford) and a c-6 that barks the wheels whenever I want! I have had it since 1987 and it went from UGLY gold to black beauty! Now in GA I can enjoy it regularly!

Thanks for reading! :D

Not my 1st but I do have my my 6th... My first car was a '57 Ford Sta wgn(on the east coast surfing was big) with a 292 "Y" block and Ford-O-matic... After that I had a '62 sta wgn, a '58 Fairlane 500 with the 352 Interceptor, a '64 Galaxie 500, 390 Four speed and a second '64 twin but was automatic... The first three came and went in less than two years, kept the 1st '64 for about six years, the 2nd maybe six months(more like three)... Wouldn't mind having the '64 with four speed back, could care Jack Schitt about the others...

Beautiful Torino.

IMHO, I like the 68/69 Torino/Cyclone style over the 72/73.

But, the 70/71 Cyclone style vs the 68/69 fastback would be a real tough choice.

I had one of those big LTDs back in 72, GingerGlo (metallic brown) with a dealer added buckskin vinyl top, 400/2V, 3:25 rear.

Gorgeous car, classy interior, and not too slow once you got her going.

I still have old sales brochuress for the 71 and 72 big Fords.

428CJ Ram Air, Top Loader 4-Speed, 9" 3.50 Traction Lock rear, with 31 spline axles... The Ram Air and Traction Lock were options, all else std, even the Top Loader has a 31 spline main shaft and 1 3/8" input(the NASCAR boys used these exact same transmissions behind the 427 & Boss 429 back in the day)...

Additional options include, bucket seats, console, tach, PDB, but does not have power steering... I added the wheels, racing mirrors and AM/FM Stereo, all were options that could have been ordered... Retail on this one was a hair over $4K, I paid $1500 for it in '73, from a used muscle car lot... It has one previous owner and was in better condition than the average 302/351 Farilane/Torino... After doing a title history, I talked with the original owner in '92(lives in MD), he stated he bought it just because he liked it, and had never abused or raced it... The original condition basically proved he was truthful...

IMHO, I like the 68/69 Torino/Cyclone style over the 72/73.

But, the 70/71 Cyclone style vs the 68/69 fastback would be a real tough choice.

It actually not a Torino, but a Fairlane Cobra(Fords answer to the Plymouth Roadchicken, big engine, 4-speed std), body codes are shared with the Fairlane and Fairlane 500 series... In '70-'71 the Cobras were upped to Torino class, but in '69 they were advertised just as Cobras...

Yeah the '70-'71 Cyclone would be a tough choice but at this point, I'm hanging on to my Cobra...

A early commercial for the Cobra which is actually a prototype... The car in the ad has red GT interior(red not avail on a production Cobra, black, blue, nugget gold - ONLY) and a '68 shifter so is likely a converted '68 Torino GT... Also the full blackout grille and Cobra decals did not make production either...

It's my 46 Ford 1/2 ton PU. I'm 49 for another month, and I got it when I was in the 6th grade. It's a rustbucket, but it's still mine!

Do you still have that car?

My truck, before and after the paint, theft and wreck. It now sits with a broken transmission.

I wish I still had my first car.
1986 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Fully loaded, 5sp, and two tone blue paint with the gray lower half. I love that car still.

Looked like this but blue.

Go White Sox!!!

That's the car I wanted to buy when I graduated college in 1985. Never could afford one though.

You have good taste for a flamer!

I had an 85 TurboCoupe in black, just like the picture.

Totaled her in a 1994 snowstorm because I was too stupid to slow down.

Car had 90,000 miles, and had just undergone it's first brake job.

Replaced her with a 94 TBird LX, black, 4.6. Just hit 150,000 on the 94.

My first car was a 81 Ford Thunderbird. My dad bought it for me with the money I sent home from Basic Training in the Army Reserve. I didn't so much like it when I first saw it, but it was ok. I grew to like it and then missed it for a couple of years when I sold it. The catalytic converters were clogged and it was the most expensive thing that I would have had done to the car so I sold it. And money was tight back then. So in all, I don't think I owned it much over a couple of years. My box Crown Vic was the first car I owned in my own name on the title though. And now the Marauder. Still own both of those.

It may be sitting around, it may be disassembled and that might suck.....

BUT!.....

looks real clean, it's outta the elements and you own it! (well, I trust you're not still making payments on a '67 LeMans ). That's the bulk of the battle right there. Just think, the price of that car is rising daily...1 piece or 100 pieces. I'm jealous.

1990 blood red Grand Marquis with the crushed velour interior, power antenna and cigarette lighters in both rear doors! Rock solid car with the classic 5.0 power plant. I'd love to get my hands on another 90-91 LTD or GM in good condition.
