Forged everything, stroked, billet oil pump, raised compression. I'll put hood back on and make a shake down run tomorrow and then next week get a dyno tune. How much H.P. will it make at 12lbs? I usually run 110 octane but I am probably going to put a Snow alcohol setup on it and maybe try it with 91 octane (that's all they have out here).

Looking forward to seeing what kind of hp this beast will make, looks great!

How much did you changed the CR by?

10.4......................

Sweet, at that ratio if you only run 110 octane you should be able to run 20* of timing, I say 520rwhp

I'm making 521 @ 12lbs on a 93 tune from Lidio. For reference, I have a twin screw.

Who did your build and how bout some more pics?

Did you just installed a shortblock on the factory head or is there more work done to it?

Sweet, love that tag

Heads are stock, had new guides and a fresh valve job done. I bought a new aluminum block and all the components and had it done by a machinist with lots of modular motor experience. I also had the the CP pistons coated by Calico, and used ARP bolts throughout the bottom end.

It has been a long build but it appears to be worth it.
I missed driving it for the last 6+ months.

Sounds like a decent high CR build, on 12psi and stock compression on 93 octane I have seen as much as 494rwhp without detonation at 16* of timing. Same car on 110 octane 520rwhp at 19* of timing. On a novi 1200
We stopped there not because of pinging but because it was still a stock mm engine, so if you run race gas at all time you should get to that power or Maybe more with no problems.
I'm about to tune14psi at 10:2.1 on 93 octane in about a month. I don't expect more than 500rwhp on pump gas but on 110 octane I'm hoping for somewhere around 550rwhp. On a vortech t-trim
Let us know how much power she makes if you hit the rollers before me so I can have somewhat of a reference.

Drove it for about a mile today and washed and waxed it...ME HAPPY!

I don't know if it's the pics, but it looks like you have some seriously wide tires on the back.

Good to see it has all come together.

FYI, MM&FF did an S/C high compression vs low compression test and the difference was ~3% in RWHP.

FYI, MM&FF did an S/C high compression vs low compression test and the difference was ~3% in RWHP. there is more to it than that, you can take really good advantage of the High CR with higher octane and timing, specially on a blown motor.

The ~3% was on an OEM motor with the only difference being the CR. Here is a motor that was blown ~12% from MM&FF;

"The boosted 10.1:1 motor produced 600 hp, while the 8.1:1 produced 533 hp for a difference of 67 hp. Remember, the power difference between the NA version of the motors was 36 hp (401 hp minus 365 hp). If we multiply the original power difference between the two NA motors (36 hp) by the pressure ratio (1.63), we get a calculated difference of 59 hp. OK, so 59 hp is a tad off the 67 hp actually achieved, but remember that the drop in compression also resulted in a slight drop in boost pressure, which should be factored in as well.

There are many different ways to get HP, it all depends on money, time and how you are going to use the car.

I go to car shows all the time and see mega hp cars that have only gone WOT on the Dyno a couple of times to tune. They will probably never go WOT again, which is fine with the owner. Many have never gone WOT and probably never will, which is also fine by the owner.
