Hello everyone!
I know there are some smart and wise folks on board here, therefore I put this question out there.
It's a two parter...
I need to register several domain names.
What are some of the better and cheaper sites to achieve this?
Go Daddy appears ok....but is it...?
I need to create one website, and direct all of these domains to it.
Where does one go for a cheapie basic website to merely host pictures, perhaps a video or two, and lots of blog?
I need to do everything on the cheap.
My goal is to bury the guy that took my money, a lot of it, for our home renovation / addition last year and has subsequently bailed, closed shop, and is refusing to settle or make required repairs to damages in excess of 25,000.
Original thread here:

Thanks in advance everyone!

For the life of me, I can't remember what web host/URL service I used for my band's website back in '04-'06. It was something like $5 or $10 a month and we had a TON of room. To create and edit the website, I used a program called Dreamweaver (http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver.html). It was a giant pain in the ass to learn how to use it, but once I got the hang of it, editing the page was a breeze. We went with a simple text format with a floating background image.
My recommendation as far as the video hosting would be to leave them all on YouTube. We've all heard of videos going 'viral' - case in point, the homeless guy from Columbus who got a 2nd chance at radio/voiceover work and then screwed it up. Plus, with YouTube, you're going to get visitors to your video who wouldn't normally think to go to your website. Maybe they were searching for something else, and your video comes up in the 'recommended videos' sidebar.
You can embed all of your YouTube videos onto whatever website you want. The side bonus to that is that you won't have to pay for as much bandwidth with your web host, because all the streaming video is FREE from YouTube.
Photos, on the other hand, I would absolutely host on your own website. Free services like Photobucket are nice and all, but if you're planning on having a ton of traffic on your website you will eventually find out that those free services have bandwidth limits. It makes your site look like ass when pictures come up 404.
Hope some of this helps...I am sure someone else will have more valuable information down the line.

Verisign is but one registrar. They are the most expensive (read: rip off)
http://www.mydomain.com - cheap at $9 each for 1 year. Can do stealth URL forwards or you can do DNS if you want.

Go Daddy is good. We use them at my work for web hosting and domain name registration/maintenance etc.
My only advise is be careful what you post. There have been some cases where this has gotten out of hand and the bad guy ends up suing the good guy for defamation of character.

That website is a joke.
All of the images of work done is actually pictures of the interior of his own home.
We know this because my wife has had dinner there years ago.
Most of the redirecting links are down, but if you have the original link, it will still bring up the fraudulent web page images.
How might the attorney general help?

File a complaint with your state's attorney general. Unlike the BB, who deletes a complaint after it is "resolved", a complaint stays in the attorney general's files even if it is "resolved".
Plus he did commit fraud didn't he?

Barry: The State Attorney Office's is bound to invesgate any complaint filed. Have them look into it.

Hmmm, I'm surprised your attorney(s) have not told you to file with the AG. This happens all the time in NYS. The guy could end up in prison depending on how many he has defrauded. I would strongly urge you to go to their local office with all your documentation and file a fraud/grand larceny complaint.
