i dont know a super lot on turbos ,let alone remote mounted ones. but from wat i know, wouldnt remote mount turbo have turbo lag with the extra piping? he claims no turbo lag. granted they seem reltively small compared to the V10

thats y there is really no turbo lag cause of the small turbos. and with it being a v10 im sure its not a dog off the line.

Nice car, the price seems right to me, as long as it doesn't go over 10 grand

Zack did a V-10 swap into a Marauder a couple years ago. IIRC, it was a torque monster, but wouldn't rev too high, he ended up dropping the project. I find it a bit hard to believe it would be a real fast car, even with the turbos.

If they can stuff a V-10 into a GM why couldn't a 5.4l fit in our cars. Something about firewall clearance but jeez isn't a V-10 longer then a V-8?

IDK who told you that there would be firewall clearance prob with a 5.4 but they are dead wrong.
5.4 will fit in a MM, just gotta make a couple changes

It was hood clearence issues do to the frame changes and no time it fix before production started. Kind of a long story.

I am use to the V-10 in the E-350's and the were something off the line:) Considering the size and weight of the van:)

I think deck height of the 5.4 is the primary issue, isn't it? Hood clearance issues, but those are solvable.
Here are a couple links to Zack's V10 project:

There was a video of that car on streetfire doing a pass a couple years ago. Thing is definitely quick.

Those 2 small turbos off of a mid '80s T-Bird would work great with that engine!
They would spool up instantly and would run out of airflow just when that low revving V10 was ready to shift anyway.
That GM has to feel like a freight train when cruising along and you lay on the throttle....and GOBS of torque push you forward effortlessly!!....:bows:

I'd take a small V-8 any day over a V-10 anything!!
Have you ever heard the exhaust note on a V-10.......sounds like a 6 cylinder Jeep with a rusted out muffler.......UGH!!!
There are MANY better ways to go!!:burnout:

I own both a v10 and a i6 jeep... and they sound nothing alike. When my gf moved in, we went to bring her stuff over, she took the excursion, I took the jeep... I had to call her on the freeway to tell her to slow down because I couldn't hit 75mph that fast... :o Even though the excursion weighs 2x what the cherokee does.
Those turbos are reaaaally tiny... The 2.3L those things were rated for ~80hp n/a? Not only is the 6.8 making the output of 4 of those motors, it's about 3x the displacement of one of them motors, an indication of how much better the heads move air... I bet those things hit max boost below 1000 rpm.
For a truck engine, the V10 is awesome, for a car engine... not so much.
One of the other problems with fitting a 5.4 in our cars was the heads... the v10 is an sohc motor, meaning heads are much thinner. The dohc heads are massive. A 5.4 sohc is a pretty common swap in both mustangs and crown vics, but a 5.4 dohc does usually need quite the cowl hood. Because of the bigger heads, intake sits higher, engine is wider, etc...
I do think that a 5.4 sohc would have fit these behemoths better though than the dohc 4.6, more low end torque, and no need for 7000 rpm capability...

Exactly. The V10 (at least mine) sounds more like a jet than anything. It's also considerably smoother than any 6 or 8 I've ever been in...
Just sucks when you wash it and take out a few COPs... :o
I wish ford made a 4.6 stroke based dohc v10... I know they did in the Boss 351 concept mustang... or imagine that motor based on the coyote platform... slightly bigger stroke/bore than the 4.6, dohc, ti-vct... 500 hp n/a stock form would be no problem.. with a bit of boss 302 style tuning, 600...

Both Ford and Chrysler......for torque they are nice but nothing beats a good ole V-8 for sound and all around power for cars....IMHO!!

I donno, I think this v10 would mop the floor with good ole V8s for all around power for cars...
