At first the DTR bashing was all in jest and fun. Yes, I found it somewhat funny at the beginning ... it probably goes back to the Louisville Dumpster parking episode.

However, now it seems just a tad mean-spirited to me. :( The "joke" is long gone. We've all heard it a hundred times. Are we gonna beat this horse to death like the "That's What She Said" and "TWSS" posts? It really ain't funny anymore and I'd be slightly PO'd at the constant DTR bashing if my MM was a red one. Just sayin' ..... Even funny gets sour after overuse.

I didnt have a specific color in mind. I just happen to come across my DTR with low miles, light flint interior, super close to my house and at a dealer I like. So I bought it ASAP!!

...my color choice when I was looking for a MM was:

1. Silver
2. DTR
3. Blue
4. Black

Nothing against the 'Blacks' (oh s***, what did he just say?), but my previous car was black and I had it for 10 years. I'm sure my list above would've been different if my previous car had been silver, blue, or DTR-similar. I think all MM colors are great; if I ever hit the lottery, I plan on owning one of each. (with light flint interior...the ONLY thing I wish my MM had)

And having a 5th one that I could 'candy' out with wagon wheels and 'MARAUDER' written all over it...sorry, Mac-Merc, couldn't resist!:shake:

I bash DTR's cause I saw the pictures of the sign on the dumpster.

When I was looking for mine, DPB was it and I had owned a blue for 9.5 years already. Then was DTR, silver was a distant third ... And Black was not an option. Why? Well I will never own the fastest Marauder or most unique so I wanted to get one that stood out in a crowd.

As for what outsiders think ... Yeah, I get the point.

If I could afford two the other would be a DBP
I think the car that is our front in a heads up is the winner,
no matter what color it is. The SB and Black are quite nice as well.
I love them all. I would like to own one of each. My club house is not
big enough for all four and a work shop as well. Not mention storage for parts.

Like most here, I belong to a bunch of different car centric websites. Folks on the outside of SVT.com, and musclecarevolution.com will think our site a little soft in comparrison The DTR squabble would be considered a minor blip at best on any of the others.

Imagine everytime you logged on someone was thrashing your ride because you're the runt of the litter. It would get a little old and I imagine would wear on you.

I'm not saying I won't ever make another DTR joke (Joe drives one so I know they are going to come) but I'm gonna be more selective when using them.

At the end of the day, the DTR, DPB and Silvers are all rare in comparison to black, which in and of itself is pretty cool.

At first the DTR bashing was all in jest and fun. Yes, I found it somewhat funny at the beginning ... it probably goes back to the Louisville Dumpster parking episode.

However, now it seems just a tad mean-spirited to me. :( The "joke" is long gone. We've all heard it a hundred times. Are we gonna beat this horse to death like the "That's What She Said" and "TWSS" posts? It really ain't funny anymore and I'd be slightly PO'd at the constant DTR bashing if my MM was a red one. I came close to getting a DTR instead of a Black. What ultimately made up my mind was that mine was in much better shape. I thought Red was a better color, but it didn't take long for black to grow on me... even with all the washing to keep it looking nice!

I'm a DTR owner here, I don't get to post as often anymore now that I'm floating around the Persian Gulf with a less than dial-up connection. I am the original owner, one of the few still here. Health problems put things in perspective. I can probably never work again and that means on the car too, so the fun is gone.

Im proud of my BOOSTEDDTR!!! And I am happy to report that I personally find the DTR stuff funny.

The DTR's i've seen at gatherings are some of THE cleanest Marauders. Shine like a new apple. When the blue Marauder has had enough, a DTR will replace it. But even then, the jokes will continue unabated. P71's DTR, oh my gawd, sharp as a tack. Mike's, Joe's, Waymons, rayjays, all clean as heck. I know I've seen more, can't think of them, tho.
