Seems as if heat is coming through the driver side into the car. Is it normal or what is it now that I need fixed....?

Check all the grommets in the firewall. If you can feel the heat the hole has to be pretty big.

You can also put a drop light next to the engine side of the firewall and see if you can see any light from inside the car, under the dash. Keep moving the drop light around.

It mostly happens while drinving. Common sense tells me its heat coming from the engine. I just want to know if it could be fixed or is it due to the car's age.

You may have an exhaust leak or a plugged cat. Also check that the heat shield did not fall off on the outside between the exhaust and floor pan.

Maybe your blend door on the HVAC is stuck.

+1 on the grommet. Been there, done that on other cars.

Could also be the seal at the base of the steering column.
