I never really liked KISS at all until I heard the song Love Gun. I was told few of the early albums were like that.
I know we have some people in the KISS ARMY here... so troops, what do I buy?
Vinyl BTW.

Can't go wrong with any of the first 6. My two favorites are "Dressed to Kill" and "Rock N Roll Over" But Destoryer was pretty awesome two with Detroit Rock City and God of Thunder. Of course Love Gun was solid with I Stole your Love and Love Gun, aww hell just buy all of the first six, they rock

KISS ALIVE is great. I second the earlier post, you can't go wrong with the first six.

One of my first bands ever used to cover "Room Service"! I still love that song.
Out of the first 5 studio KISS albums, the only one I don't really care for is Hotter Than Hell. I just picked up a copy of Rock And Roll Over a few days ago for $0.99. Not my favorite album but it's got this:

Back in '07, my band (which was used to playing punk/garage, 3 chords 'n' a cloud of dust, no solos) performed as KISS as part of a Halloween show. Yes, even in the makeup:

Of course, this is how I ended the night:

Set list from the evening:
Shout It Out Loud
Lick It Up
Strutter
Shock Me
Calling Dr. Love
Black Diamond
Beth (to this day, the best [and only] punk rock version of the song I've ever heard)
Rock 'n' Roll All Nite

As someone who lived through the KISS years, I really can't come up with anything...
Why don't you try out JJ Cale instead?

I always preferred the Paul Stanley "disco demo" of that song!

For cruising at night with the A/C on and the windows down, volume pumped? Most all KISS!
They are one of the few bands that can really mix up the beat for different moods. Dive in deep on youtube with some good headphones, I'm sure you'll find quite a few good ones.

I'd say spend your money else where on something other than a Kiss album.
