I have an opportunity to purchase one of two 1984 SVO Mustangs a friend of a friend is selling. My dilemma is that I can't decide which one. One is silver and has 100000 miles on it...completely stock, leather interior. The other is canyon red with cloth interior and some mods done...head ported, a little bit more aggressive cam, high rev valve springs, and a custom exhaust built by ford motor company in their prototype garage back in the 80's. The mileage on the red one is 64,000. WWMMOD?(what would mercury marauder owners do?)

Go for the modified one with less miles.

Completely stock would give you a blank canvas to begin with if modding is your thing, or leave it alone and it will be worth more as an original example. My .02

Same price? If so, go with the modded one.

On the other hand, WWMMOD? Well, we'd wait for a Marauder and buy that instead... ;)

All good advice....I was leaning towards the red car. It is actually less expensive by 1500 bucks. The silver car was a DSO 89 car, which may or may not explain the higher price. I am always on the prowl for a marauder... when I find the right one, it will be mine.

Let me know if you need any of the following NOS parts ... lug nuts
sail panel(s)
leather shifter boot
emergency brake mechanism with leather grip
leather steering wheel horn button
emblems and decals
wheel center caps
driving / fog lights *with covers
driving / fog light switchPlus a lot of used parts - interior, wheels, rear wheel spats (like new), rear spoilers, etc..

Modded one if you plan on driving it. Those cars are really fun once they're woken up a bit. Stock one would only be worth it if you're the type to park it and drive it to car shows once in a blue moon.
