Any good tuner will tell you they want to keep the maf counts at 800 or below on a supercharged car.

The Lightning maf maxed out during the last dyno tuning session.
If you haven't got one yet, get the SCT .

The SCT maf has a limit of usefulness and is 250 bucks.
A lightning maf with a mafia is about 175 and has virtually no horsepower limit.

Yup, MAF counts are what will determine the need for a MAFia. I bought one when I did my Eaton seap, but didn't install as still under 800.

Ah just buy the dang Mafia. What's another $150 over the 1,000's you've spent on supercharging your car.
Cheap insurrance. Just do it.

Will a lightning MAF meter work with a stock air intake assembly, or do you have to buy an aftermarket CAI. I just installed my Stainlessworks headers and need a dyno tune, and I have no idea if I will need to do something with the MAF meter. I have a Trilogy Twin Screw with the stock air filter assembly.

Yes but it does have a limit on tuning, it will break down the MAF voltage so much that you'll run into driveability issues in the higher settings. Infact there is a disclosure about this in the box for them.
I'm running one on our Terminated 01' The 03' Meter maxed out around 460rwhp. (corrected) Its currently set on 2 and works well.

What do the counts mean ?

Counts translate to lbs of air per minute. 0 being the least and 1024 being the character limit of the computer. 0 to 1024 corresponds to 0 to 5 volts. You can change what the values/counts mean as far as how many lbs/min of air is being seen at a particular count.
