It was!
Don just treated us like family.
He knew of our cars and had a long comment about how important it is to keep cars you like...guess he did!.
Many more pictures coming I hope.
It truly was a awesome trip, hope everybody enjoyed it as much as I did.
To Me Don Garlits is the Jimi Hendrix of drag racing.
To be able to have a long conversation with him was Awesome!

A great museum, we stopped there when we went to the Marauderville in Orlando. Garlits is a real legend and a good guy.

Wish I could have made it, looks like it was a great time. Going to have to find some time soon to go.

From what my Dad and uncle's say Big Daddy and my grandfather were childhood friends. Would have loved to meet him and see what he had to say about about my grandfather.

Great pics Jake!
A little about Don's Ford. A supercharged motor, car is clean inside
and out. Don't know who details his cars but they do a great job.
As I drove out of his compound, noticed the 2 open doors of his 8 car garage (!!!) connected to his home housed a Dodge Caravan (of course) and another 40's vintage sedan.

Guess what motor was in this daily driver driven by the Father of Drag Racing?
