Just curious how many other Marauder owners have installed or had installed aftermarket subs and amps?
Where is your amp located?
How do you have your subs setup?
What are you using for equipment including head unit?
I'm currently using a Walmart bought VR3 deck because it has an SD card slot and bluetooth. Haven't used a CD in a couple years now. Have(had) a 920W Kenwood amp and 2 Kenwood 12" subs. The amp died a few weeks ago(possibly from water damage). The box is just a standard box from Bestbuy, it came with the subs. I bolted together a squared off U shape in wood to make a frame so the sub box doesn't slide around.
Once I get a new amp, I'm looking to do a more customer enclosure for the subs to free up some trunk space and am curious what other people with this car are running.

I know I had a pic of my set up in the gallery but it isnt there anymore....
Mine is nothing special....pulled it out of my Taurus when I traded it in for the Marauder....
2 12" Orion subs in a standard box and a 350W Bolt Amp and a remote bass knob....amp is screwed to the floor and the box sits next to it so it dosent move.
Still have the original speakers and head unit and factory CD changer that I mounted in the center console, so that I can change the mag with out having to get into the trunk.
With any luck I will be upgrading the entire system to include a touchscreen nav unit and all new speakers and amp and relocating old subs and amp to my burb.
I have upgraded the original speakers in my burb already and added a motorized flip up touchscreen DVD/CD/MP3/Backup camera/VID/Ipod also in the burb.

Doom: I'm not familiar with him, is Pops his screen name on here?
Sid210sa: I'm leaning towards a touch screen with nav as my gps sucks and can't be upgrade to include new maps. I need to find one I like that has 3 sets of preouts and accepts an SD card.
2,4shofast: Nice setup! That's more along the lines of what I'd like to do, keep the maximum amount of trunk space while still having a decent sound. My worry would be not having a spare tire of any sort, I just have this feeling that the moment I didn't have a spare with me that that would be when I'd get a flat.
The idea I've had floating around would be to make a fiberglass mold of the whole trunk and make a box out of the lower section where amps could fit and top it off with thick plexiglass with vent holes. I'd also install fans underneath the plexi to help keep it cool. That way if I have to go to the airport for a business trip I could still put my suitcase in the trunk and still have boom.
In my first Marauder, I had a red top optima that used to run my 2200W amp in my cavalier, had no problems and seemed to help on cold starts in the winter. Any main difference between the yellow and red tops for this purpose?
Yes! Pops is a vendor here on the site.
Look for Pops stereo.

I have 2-12" subs in a standard box with the amp installed on top. My head unit is a Pioneer touchscreen.
I plan on changing my setup once i get closer to my Eaton swap to lighten the weight of the car and free up space for a trunk organizer. Maybe 4 -(8 or10") subs, where the stock amp/sup and spare wheel is :D

I have always used yellow tops when I run multiple batteries for big systems. A dry cell battery will only do so much however, sooner or later larger alternators and upgraded wiring are a must and normally should always be first.

+1 on that
I transfered my subs and boxes from my truck and had the installer build an angled shoe to keep them from pitching forward, fits like a glove.
The amp is just mounted on a base and screwed into the shelf. Be careful up there because too long of a screw will puncture the fuel tank.

Very interested in learning how you did this. It was one of the first things I thought of when I bought my MM. Please post or PM me on how you did this when you get a chance.
Thanks.

Well it might have been a little easy for me. I got the OEM CD changer (from a certain totaled DTR) second hand as my marauder didnt come with that option. I had to purchase the harness that goes to the changer from the dealership....about 70 bucks. I pulled the center console drilled a cut out in the front side big enought to run the plug thru for the cd changer, pulled the surround for the shifter and the stereo....plugged the wire harness in, ran it behind the stereo and down behind the guage pod und the shifter and cup holders then up thru the hole I drilled in the center console and plugged in the cd changer and sat it in there.....fits like a glove....
Buttoned everything back up and has been there ever since.
It may be a little harder if you have the oem CD changer in the trunk, I dont know where the harness runs, or hard it will be to remove it from its run to the trunk.

Apologies for taking so long to reply to all these, computer was down with a virus I had to hunt down.
Doom: Eery, just 15 minutes after you posted that he announced he was no longer a vendor, just read that though.
MdRider88: What Pioneer are you using and were there any issues installing it? I've been wanting to go the touchscreen route for awhile.
2,4shofast: I'll have to check into a yellow top. Though, the redtop I had treated me well. Is a 2nd battery in the trunk worth it? How do you go about hooking it up to the alternator? Speaking of which, I've been wanting a larger alternator, but not sure what to go with.
SID210SA: Neat idea, wish I didn't rely on the space of the console so much.
Thanks again everyone for the great input!
