2003 hood and trunk paint

Never heard of any recalls on the paint. Most of the really bad paint was in the first two weeks of August 2002. IF you had a marauder build in those two weeks chances were real good for some Factory help:)

As much as people clown Toyota and Honda for recalls, at least they get recalls. All we get are TSBs telling us we'll need to fix this known manufacturing problem out of our own pockets. :shake:

Yeah a few people got thiers fixed by warranty early on, but by now your out of luck (haven't heard of anyone having luck on a 8 year old car...though it is a factory defect). I have it on my 03 (02 build) trunk and hood, and bird bomb etching on roof, quotes were 10-12K to repaint as they have to chemically strip it back down to the metal to repaint.

Could be worse, the white crown vics, etc that were 03+ had problems with the paint flying off in sheets and ford wouldn't warranty that either.
