Anyone Use Ford SYNC?

My 2008 Fusion has this feature, and during lunch today I created an account on: http://www.ford.com/technology/sync/?brand=flm

Took only a few minutes and had to use my VIN to complete registration.

I use the Sync but only for my iPod and iPhone/phone calls. Sometimes it flips out on me and doesn't do as I ask or connects to my voicemail out of no where but otherwise I love it.

I heard it's not a good idea to register it, especially the Vehicle Health Report because it monitors your speed and thus might effect your warranty or something.... :dunno:

I was with Wes when he used his in his SHO and now his EcoBoost F150.....I think its great....does all kinds of neat stuff....just push a button and tell your car what to do. It worked flawlessly when Wes was showing it to me on about an hours worth of driving.

SYNC is great. I wish I had it in my car but I use it alot at work. Most problems are related to the individual's phone and settings.
Vehicle health report is not a tattle tale nor would it have any bearing on warranty. VHR will send you information on your vehicle if there are any open recalls, any stored trouble codes or if any brake tire or battery measurements taken at the dealer were "Red" or "Yellow".
You can request a stored song by artist or title or genre (?). I highly recommend it.

Use it on a daily basis in my 2010 Fusion. Just lately it decided to not pick up the phone through the steering wheel controls.

I scanned for updates and it shows one available for the Fusion.

Requirements are a blank USB storage device, and the ones I have contain data at the moment so I stopped there.

Gonna mess around with it within the next week and see how it goes.

You can call people from your steering wheel?

There is a phone button which then activates the bluetooth, then you say who you wanna call and it dials the number for you. When your phone rings the persons name shows up on the radio display and you press the steering wheel button to pick up or hold the buton to dump the call.

A fun trick is entering dirty words as phone contacts or songs on your ipod and have the sync lady say them back to you. ;)

I am considering replacing the MM with a '12 Focus or Fusion or maybe an Escape - and this is one of the reasons. It is very convenient to use.

I thought I read somewhere that Ford's overall quality ranking was lowered mainly due to Sync issues.

My bro/in/law has it in his Edge.

I think they are still learning the system after a few months.
