Yesterday I was driving thru Richardson, TX and went past a Chevy dealership. The front row long the street was all new Camaro convertibles, must have been 20 of them. Im wondering if the bloom is off that rose already?

The Camaro convertibles look HIDEOUS. I can learn to appreciate the hard-top coupe models, but the convertibles are terrible looking. Just as bad as the newer convertible Z's.

While I don't find them stunning, I wouldn't call them hideous, either, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I respect your opinion. Look at it this way: some of the ugliest cars on the planet sold in reasonable numbers; the Pontiac Aztek, The Nissan Murano, and the Subaru Tribeca which are all truly hideous. I don't know why Camaro convertibles aren't selling, but I doubt it's because of their looks.

I'm guessing they are not selling because the people they were made for are too busy getting their houses foreclosed

Chevy has been bragging about how the Camaro is now outselling the Mustang. (for the first time in eons....)
Of course they forget to mention that they discontinued the camaro because it was selling so poorly vs. the Mustang back in '02.

Well, let's see....:hmmm:....Does the fact that a Camaro hasn't been made or offered for 8 years and that there is pent up demand......come into the equation at all???

If they are now languishing on the Chevy dealer lots, it indicates that Chevy has quickly exhausted the supply of mullet headed morons with an extra $35,000 burning a hole in their cutoff jean's pockets.

BTW: I think that the Camaro has a hideous interior, poor visibility, incredibly tiny trunk opening and is the worst looking of the three retro-pony cars....other than that it's great!
Plus they have to run a big cube pushrod engine to run slower than a 5.0 modular....not to mention the new BOSS 302...heh heh heh :D

poor visibility, incredibly tiny trunk opening I will grant you that...we rented one during MV8 and put quite few miles on it...forgot to add that you can't reach the driver's door to pull it closed while you're seated. :shake:

I looked at a SS at a local shoe as well as the local shop I use ( injected engineering) and I was very unimpressed. Everything is molded plastic and appeared to be a rattle box waiting to happen.JMO

Sat in a Fiat 500 yesterday and it had more room and better visibility than the Camaro.

Curse me if you may but I kinda like that Fiat. If I lived in a city and never made long trips I think it would be pretty cool. I doubt I would fit. I know for certain I cannot get in and out of the Camaro because the roof is too damn low. In the ragtop the top of the windshield is right at my eye level, I felt like Jaws in the Bond flick.

I hate to say it...but I'd rather drive a new Camaro than that Fiat 500....:o

Yeah but your weird,:D

Fiat was easy to get in and out of. Seats were OK, like Jim said a trip to Cali would be bad but back and forth to work or the grocery store it would be perfect. Boot was a lot roomier than I thought it would be and aside for the left side snugness it was roomy. Leg room wasn't bad. Might take a bit to get used to the shifter as it was on the console where you would usually find the A/C and radio.. Abarth will be out 1st Qtr of '012 and there is already a bigger aftermarket than the MM ever had

Might be a test drive in my future just for kicks.:)

Eric,
You wouldn't drive a Fiat 500 as much as you would wear a Fiat 500!

Make sure that you buy one in a 52 long.....
