I own 2 chevy's and would not put a ford motor in either one of them and vice versa. It is an awesome engine design, can't people just appreciate an awesome American engine design? I can appreciate the early Chrysler Hemi, too, from a design standpoint. It is an effective, efficient design that makes crazy power.

I know how the generals boys lather in on about how great a chebby is, but it does not hold water for the most part in head to head comp. of engine builders, look it up your self. not being argumentative but just stating what I know.

I applaud the h*ll out of his accomplisment. The time and effort, not to mention the dollars and skill of the driver, to get it right.

I had a Mercury Zephyr, which was the Mercury version of the Fairmont. What's nice is they are Fox chassis so all the Fox Mustang stuff fits......

No problem, like I said before it is his car and I am not mad at anyone because stuff like this is not worth getting mad over. WTS I personally just do not feel the pure unadultered pride I have in the past when seeing someone put time, effort and money into making their MM something special and fast. Every time some lowered the MM fastest time I felt as if my MM got faster and swelled up and would show my buds at work the videos and they go on how impressive it was to make a 281ci/4000lb. car go that fast and I would sit back and let them know I had the same vehicle sitting in my driveway. Sorry if the way I feel does not sit well with some but I am a blue oval guy, always will be, and I have to be honest when it comes to chebby motors in ford products I always ask, WHY. I do own 2 chebbies, 1 is a 91 G20 conversion van and the other a chebby branded suzuki Tracker so I am not a complete hater, just I take pride in seeing a oval outrun a bowtie and when something is oval/bowtie not so much. It's his car and it is super fast and I really doubt he gives a flip less about what any of us think, I know I wouldn't, just thinking out loud here.

I can see being proud of someone for having a fast car. Also, for me it is not the HP per cubic inch thing, since plenty of Mustangs make more. For me it is the weight of the car VS E.T. that is more impressive.

My Zephyr was drk blue interior with baby blue exterior and black steelies with baby moon hubcaps. Actually was a decent car. I never liked the color but was def a reliable car. It was stolen & totalled. I def do miss it, if I still had it you know it would be getting a modular mill swapped into it.

While growing up I learned back in the 60's chevy motors were easy to work on and cheap to build but would not stay together. two to three chevy rebuilds to one good ford built motor .Do the math was it cheaper? or do you really love doing repetative wrenching [removing and replacing motors ] .chevys were good training aids ,The Plus to this was that the smart students graduated to Ford .

A little additional facts about Joes car. The engine is from another Ford car that was originally supposed to get a bbfe engine. The waiting list was way too long on that engine and a builder was able to offer a good BBC race engine. That car was wrecked at the track. The engine, among other parts, was saved due to the cost. The engine is a Chevy engine purely by chance and basic economics.

Right now one of the fastest, most effecient, most reliable Mustangs is running a Duramax diesel. What does that make it? In my opinion, just different but cool.

My MM is a daily driver and will get whatever changes I feel like and can afford.

I almost put a BBC + 10-71 blower in my 03 Cobra but sold the roller before I started because I just wanted to start over. I say go with what works! Only reason I am not putting a big block in my Marauder is because I want it to be more of a cruiser than a track car!
