Make certain you fill out the warranty cards. In many cases by doing so you get an extended warranty.

Any parts installed by a shop be sure to ask for all the warranty paper work.

Some warranties start the day the product is first purchased. If the shop buys it January 1 and you get the vehicle June 30th the warranty may have started January 1.

Do you think not filling them out will stop junk mail?

In this one case it is costing me $850 because the shop did not bother to give me the paperwork.

I usually complete the warranty registration on line, but yeah, I keep all the back up paperwork.
