Just finished installing headlamp tint film from these guys http://www.rvinyl.com/headlight-tint-Mercury-Grand-Marquis-2003.htm
Thought I would share some pics with you I opted for the light smoke tint they do also have it in dark smoke which would probably be ok if you have HID's. The Light smoke is like a 85% tint, I held it up against my frt door glass which is 35% and there is a big diff it is substanialy lighter then the 35%. Only thing I would have done diff is I wish I had just bought new headlights cause up close you can see some of the little sand blast pits that are in the lense. This was less then 15 minutes to install both side and very simple to install. I also got there recomended spray cleaner and spray-tac. The spray tac worked great I was able to slide the fil around and find the perfect fit, once I got it were I wanted it I squgeed out as many bubbles as I could then heated it with a hair dry on high heat and just kept working it and in no time all bubbles were gone. Ive included some before pics to compare! Enjoy

I like that!

Is the film just to the edges of the headlamps?

Makes me wonder what the side marker lights would look like with that treatment on them?

;)

Mike.

Yes Mike just to the edges of the lamps! I got some additional film and Iam gonna do the sidemarker when I get time. There gonna take awhile cause Ill have to cut & trim during install. But like you metioned about sidemarkers after doing the headlights I think it will look better with sidemarkers done also. I also look at it like this they are a added bonus considering Ive seen alot of MM's with fogged over delaminating headlights this should keep that from happening also.

I like it Landy but I kinda think it looks better on a black one then silver, Still looks good on mine but kinda blends more in on a Black one. For people not wanting to tint they also got a clear film, I like the fact it helps keep the lamps from delaminating and those tiny pit's from everyday road trash.

I see they have protection film as well for the headlights.
"Tint & Blackout film is 3 mil (.0042") thick and protection film is 15 mil or (.021") thick."

Sure is Ken although the tailamps you have to cut & trim while applying. This stuff was such a breeze to install. I did inquire about the clear film also FYI for others it is designed for the purpose of help from fading and tiny chips.

The outside can be fixed with a good polishing.
It's the inside that is a problem.
SonnyBoy's 03 MM with 150K has it bad from condensation...My 04 carport queen is starting to show condensation as well

That is one problem! The delamination is on the outside. You can try and buff it and sometimes it helps, Otherwise google it there is a way to clean them that has brake fluid (beleive it or not) in the method and it works really well, Used to work with a guy who did it all the time. Even the nastiest of lamps he could get shinning again, As for moisture inside the lamp theres really no good way to fix it, Once the seal is broke its nearly impossible to get sealed again

How did the side markers turn out? Do the headlight tints affect night time visibility?

I'd you put your headlamps in the oven on a wooden board for 10 mins at 250 degrees you can pry the lense from the housing, scrap out the old glue, reapply new butyl sealant, place 2 halves back in same degree oven for same time, remove and clamp them back together. As long as you used enough butyl glue, it will reseal and should fix your moisture problems.

Very,Very little I went with the lighter on the 2 films. Since its been a while I dont even notice a diff at all. I also did it due to the fact Iam eventually gonna upgrade to HID's if I ever stop spending all my $$$ under the hood LOL
