Your Green IRENE Experience

Those that lost power due to IRENE post up your GREEN experience.

What was it like living GREEN? Do you feel better knowing you shrank your carbon foot print?;)

With LEE upon us we may also live GREEN.

Put it this Way.. With the new Generator in the garage the next time power goes out we wont be that green. we were lucky to only be without power for 37 hrs

Power wenr off about 1400 hrs Saturday. Within minutes had the ole generator running. Back fed the lighting panel thru the drier connector. Had everything (including water heater) till the power was restored about 2200 hrs Sunday. Had fuel transfer pump to draw fuel from cars. Just did not have AC. Refrigerator and freezer worked fine. No loss of food or cooking capability. Just noise is botherdome.

Last time I checked there were around 800,000 homes without power.
As a lifelong Floridian I have learned to prepare the best I can.
But living without electricity is not fun...

I really would like to get a natural gas gen. Everyone who has one is very satisfied. The new air cooled can run many houses. They are expensive.
