I wish that proving negligence in a court case like this would garner you the ability to sue for MORE than the book value of the car. Beyond destruction of property, negligence on one person's part leading to the destruction of said property infringes on a right to ownership, and that sentiment is multiplied when the object in question is not readily replaceable (not even accounting for personal sentimental value.)

I could be wrong, but whenever I've seen cases like this, the most you'd get is book value, which in a lot of cases could be even less than what you had in it just to purchase it...

I know a few of us have been in major accidents, I don't know about you guys, but when it happens I pretty much don't give a hoot about the car. My concern goes into my passengers, myself and whoever else is involved. Even if it's someone else hitting me (which it has all four times) I always go to the person and make sure they are ok.

The cars can always be fixed. Even by the looks of that wrecked classic, if it was really that important I would take whatever money that's given, fix it and shell out the rest outta my own pocket.

It's amazing to see how far technology has come in vehicle safety. Those pictures paint a pretty clear picture. I'm am glad it looks like no one is hurt. Just looking at the new car, it hardly seems damaged... look at the other one and wow.

I park in my garage next to a asian woman. Ill take a pic of her 2 month old car she just bought brand new. I dont think masking tape holding the front bumper up and a bashed quarter panel is the sign of a good driver. :rolleyes:
