I am pulling the Trilogy off to do a couple of things.
Question is do I have to pull the water inlet cover off before pulling it?
It appears the I/C has 2 nipples that fit into it.

You do not have to pull that off as long as you want to leave the blower on the lower intake. To get the blower off the intake yes it needs to come off first as there is 2 tubes that connect the cover to the IC.

I pulled it anyway, better safe than sorry.
The IC bolts to the bottom of the upper intake and it seemed safer to take it off.
Done deal.
Boy, it looks like I need a catch can, oily under there!
Not puddled but a nice even coat through the IC and the lower intake right into the ports.

Brake cleaner will clean that right out.
